  1. On the basis that if Wentz had done that against third stringers all of the posters here would have called it terrible and would have been calling for Howell to get 1st team reps
  2. He's done a great job missing half his throws against guys who will never play in the NFL. Having a strong arm is a fools gold gift in the NFL, and if you can't see that TH understands the game 10 times better to make up for that....I don't know what to say
  3. HOTTAKE BUT SHOULDNT BE: So is TH now the greatest second coming based on one pre-season game, and Howell is terrible, or did we realize how crazy the takes were on one overhyped mediocre passer having one rushing TD in 1 preseason game against third stringers?
  4. I suppose its a little too typical there is all the talk about whether Scott can be a good HC, when he has yet to show he can even be a mediocre OC. So far his offensive work has been poor and he hasnt shown any signs of improvement in the past several years. The real reason Scott is moving down to the sidelines is because he has done a poor job, but they want to give him another chance, and indeed every chance to succeed, so they are trying to mix it up and give him a different perspective. If the offense doesnt perform very well this season he will be fired.
  5. People who lack humility and make bad decisions habitually will always believe its bad luck and not them. 1 year is bad luck. The team can win with Dan for a short time, you are right about luck but in the wrong way. A crazy stretch of luck can briefly overcome the disaster he has built. Decisions are hard, especially important ones, and to someone who doesnt make good ones they seem confusing with outcomes based on luck. But there are countless people who make constant good decision that succeed 90% of the time. They dont need to believe in bad luck because they have decades of near constant success to enjoy instead. Dan hasnt suffered bad luck. Dan has gotten amazingly good luck. Despite making every bad decision you could he lucked into enough financial backing to just barely get enough control of the team to eventually ride its rise to own the entirety of it and make his entire networth. All Snyder has done in his entire life is run just about every company into the ground except for one short period where it went well enough to IPO with other backers. You can look that up. The thing Snyder has done well is always talk people into bad deals for them, the same thing he has done with fans for so long. His success was for 3 years, then consisted of buying up someone elses actually successful companies until he could sell his.
  6. Do you just copy and paste these exact lines every time someone doesnt want to start Howell?
  7. Dan wont allow it. When congress asked Dan to come speak to them he literally Dan'ed it up and put himself in the news for months while everyone thought he was trying to dodge them and subpoenas. In the end, he came to speak with them, just as they asked. It wouldnt have been a long story but Dan literally put himself in the news in a bad way for two extra months to end up doing EXACTLY what he could have just done the first time they asked. He chose two months of bad press all about him and his issues that wouldnt have existed otherwise. And he will always do that.
  8. So this site is a very small portion of the fan base. Which is true. Whats left on this forum compared to a couple of years ago is almost solely the hardcore, rabid, wont go anywhere no matter what Dan does crowd. Its a very small portion. Meanwhile the vast majority of people have handed in their cards, dont care anymore, and have moved on or are in the process of just going through the motions while trying to move-on. The real fanbase is far worse off and cares far less about the team than this forum would make it appear. And I have no doubt the team can pack a 100 person venue with STHs. Thats about as impressive as mowing a lawn.
  9. I mean, if you have issues with everything being about Dan, you're following the wrong franchise, because Dan has been making everything about Dan since the start and has caused the problem. And the news wont stop being about Dan every single week with something new while hes the owner. Wait till he fires Ron and restarts.
  10. Man, Howell makes 3 good throws, misses a lot, and ends with about a 50% completion percentage against a 3rd string defense and some people lose it.
  11. Despite being someone who doesnt get preseason hype and is overly critical(which is typically correct these days), I can say there may be literally nothing less important to the success of a teams season than a QB throwing a bunch of interceptions in the first week of practice. Maybe it makes people all warm and fuzzy to have something to panic over, but Scott Turner running the offense and a bad secondary SHOULD be keeping them busy instead.
  12. So lets recap, you ignored what I said, pretended because you read an article one time that talk about the Mazars case that you understand it while demonstrating you DONT understand that ruling, and then posted a couple of random quotes from the internet and call it a day, all on the backs of basically saying "Dan totally didnt hide out in international waters, he was already there and then just refused to come back for a long time while his attorneys refused receipt of the subpoena in a rare move". First, I said receiving a subpoena is mandatory. Yyou didnt address that or the absolute legal fact that dodging a subpoena is not a proper legal challenge to whether it should be issued. Once received, then you can take it up with the courts as to whether it was justly issued or not. Second, you absolutely completely and conveniently ignored the brutal proof that Dan Snyders OWN attorneys view the subpoena as justified, or else they wouldnt have hid from it, and instead would have had much more fun embarrassing congress in a year long court date. The fact Snyder testified at all, unless you havent been a fan of this team for very long, is proof again that it was valid, because there's no way Snyder voluntarily does that unless he believes they can make him do it, and thats the best option he gets. Third, despite being the great internet lawyer you think you are, the oversight committee is not done with the investigation and may continue to investigate legally until they feel they have everything they need. You have no idea what they intend to do and who they intend to investigate in the future. Fourth, again despite being a great internet lawyer you clearly dont understand the basics of law regarding it or the 2020 Mazars supreme court case you seemingly referenced. What the court ruled wasnt that congress had their subpoena powers reduced in any meaningful capacity(after all, congress literally can just write a new law giving themselves more powers in that department) EXCEPT for the separation-of-powers of the federal government. Their ruling over a case about whether congress can force the executive branch to give any documents it requests, and with a long history of congress trying to do this with presidential records, is that congress cannot just request any and all documents from the presidential office. This is because limitless authority to subpoena the executive branch would then give congress an imperious control over the presidency through political means or otherwise, which would violate the separate of those powers. if you want to get your legal advice from random guys on a DC radio show by all means, but no sane person would.
  13. Literally clueless. Clearly have never read the law on it or spent as much time dealing with legal paperwork as I and countless others who have all disagreed with your absurd notion that subpoenas are just an optional maybe thing. It gets taken to court LITERALLY because a congressional subpoena is a mandatory thing and that powerful, and the exception to its use is such a big deal. That has nothing to do with the power of the legal instrument of a congressional subpoena, just whether an individual use was an overreach, like with a circuit court ruling that gets appealed to the supreme court. You could look up the actual law of the united states on this, but its just much easier to argue for Dan Snyder on an internet forum I guess. Dan Snyder believes they have the power to subpoena him, and that its a legitimate subpoena. Do you disagree with him and his lawyers? Because why the hell would he stay in international waters to wait out congress if he and his lawyers actually believed the subpoena was wrongly issued and they could just defeat it in court, which would make him look far far better than running away from his own country. Snyders actions in response to the subpoena have cost him many millions of dollars, regardless of whether he "wins" by not having to testify under it, hes alienated yet another large group of fans who will never forgive him for running away and see it as an admission of guilt and wrongdoing. He doesnt just throw away money when hes clearly in the right because it "would be fun and the weather is nice in the Mediterranean this time of year".
  14. LOL Malicious? Protesting is malicious? And as far as I know, in the United States of America, its the same day whether you are in Washington or Denver or LA. And all of them had massive attendance. Clearly they should just rename it the WTF pod.
  15. A subpoena is literally mandatory. There arent any optional subpoenas. You have less than no idea whats going on clearly.
  16. Well, the committee threw it all away. They agreed to Snyder doing a zoom call from the mediteranian to answer pre-decided written questions from a staffer only, behind closed doors. Surely they cant be stupid enough to think hes going to say anything useful or helpful. The big play and leverage they had was to force his continued running from the subpoena until they could force testimony or hold him in criminal contempt. Now they are going to get literally nothing out of it. I guess just confirms what we already knew, when the two least trustworthy and most incompetent entities in Snyder and Congress meet, everything is disappointment.
  17. But that doesnt make any sense. They clearly havent written off the old fans because they try and pander to them at every moment, and make bad decisions that are only steeped in connecting the old fans to the old traditions. The new fight song is a perfect example. No new fan wants that song. The lyrics are terrible, the song options as they present are not good and very few people would ever like them, if it wasnt for the connection to the past. They could have a new better fight song dedicated to the new name that would draw in far more younger fans. But they didnt do that, they decided to make the franchise less appealing to young fans specifically for the sake of pandering to older fans, much like the decision to take HTTC off of HTTR and keep the colors related. Im not sure where you are possibly reading they have written off the older fans when that seems to be the only ones they care about.
  18. Its amazing the confidence in a guy who has never ever done anything. Just because people dont like words the other guy said. Turner and the offense should have a better year, if they dont, he should be immediately fired with the pieces he has as they went all out for the offense. If the defense is average or above, considering the still complete lack of LBers and a secondary who can cover, Del Rio has done his job well.
  19. What the............... If you really and truly think thats what normally(I.E. 99.99999% of the time) happens when someone is given a subpoena, and are not just pure trolling for some kind of bizzaro internet trophy....then no one here, there, or anywhere will ever be able to help you in life. Good luck.
  20. No, they're not. There are consequences to actions. Dan has avoided those almost all of this life. They asked him to voluntarily testify. He refused. They then issued a subpoena, a legal requirement that he now must testify under oath, as a consequence of that. He then went "Wait wait wait, ok, Ill do it voluntarily now". They are saying "No, its too late for that, you already rejected that so now these are the consequences. Letting him out of that now would be beyond foolish and really blunt the power of issuing a subpoena. It is not something he can choose to "accept". It is not something he gets a choice in. Thats the entire point of it. Dan may get to dictate how women are treated in his organization, but he does not get to dictate how he testifies, according to the law the rest of us have to abide by. If you want to give him special treatment, so be it, but I would like to see him held to the same standard Im held to, and I dont view that as "shenanigans".
  21. And the gamesmanship continues, the committee gets one up on him with this one. Now that hes made it clear hes able to appear on that date, they have accepted but made it clear it will be under the subpoena. Now he has to back out. But if he doesnt show hes now very obviously "dodging" the subpoena and putting himself in legal trouble with clear contempt.
  22. Irrelevent: "not connected with or relevant to something" Its definitely not. The tweet says the medical team does not say which of the two worst medical teams in the past decade of the NFL it was, which were fired and hired that year. When the head is rotten, everyone they hire tends to be as well.
