  1. No he didnt, he hired buddies who would be his mouthpiece. They were just as he wanted, spineless yes men who would fall in step with him, consult him on all of their moves, and people he could call up and tell what he would like done. They were the right hand man of a mafia boss, there wasnt a chance that they would turn down one of his requests or go against him. Its easy to be fine with someones decision when it agrees with yours, its only giving power if you let them do things you disagree with.
  2. Gotta go with a D. I guess I was about a B+ on the last few which seemed to have been proven right. I like getting a receiver early, and the potential of getting a player from someone like Butler, but overall on paper it seemed to be wasting a lot of picks as if the team was already a contender and just needed to fill backup spots. Player like Mathis and Robinson have to play much better than expected by experts for this draft not to suck. That said, I think early grades are pointless, in 3 years no one cares about the names and grades, but just who actually panned out. Its all about the talent evaluators/scouts, and whether the FO hired the right ones and listened to them. They will get the names you havent heard of who will be the big time players.
  3. Didnt think the teams RB room had extra space but I guess now its supercrowded. Looking forward to seeing the 3rd and 1 options this year.
  4. Thats literally not true, not sure how you couldnt count to 4. The coach can quit. Or he can also just leave at the end of his contract. Thats what almost happened with Gruden right before Danny decided to stupidly extend his contract.
  5. If you dont understand that at this point in time, you've never been a fan
  6. So I think that means they try and go OLine and Carson Strong in the 5th. On paper, this draft looks terrible so far, so we find out if they just are better evaluators. This season makes or breaks Ron, either they make the playoffs and look much improved, or the years of failure combined with a very bad draft mean hes gone.
  7. To skip a LB or DB at this spot, he better have a big year. At the point you turn Gibson into the alternate, Im not sure I see too much point for both Gibson and McKissic.
  8. Which is fine, but you especially dont need a high round RB pick, in a day and age where RBs are a dime a dozen in the NFL, for a guy whos just coming in for 1 of 3 plays, maybe.
  9. For the record, I think in a draft of very poor QBs that nobody really wants because none of them will probably be a long term starter...Howell is the biggest dud of them all. Hes a bad passer bowling ball that looks like he will never be more than a poor man's Tim Tebow. While I dont have high hopes for them, Carson Strong and Matt Coral I think are the only ones I would consider past Pickett to have a hope to be good. To me Strong has some of the best pure QB traits that could be fantastic if he can solve the negatives. Howell just has a ceiling thats below waist level.
  10. At this point the FO needs to fill one of the huge holes. WR was a start, but the reality is the teams biggest holes are at ILB, OL, and DB. You have to pick up the best player at one of those positions this round. Maaaybe a TE. Any desire for a RB or another QB has to go until the 4th, and then you use the other 4th rounder to fill one of those other holes.
  11. Im not saying he wont be good....but... this was such an unnecessary pick. Unnecessary in that Ron and Co didnt bother to think about what if they let Settle and Ioannidis go and then didnt want to resign Payne. Unnecessary because if you had thought about it, and just kept Ioannidis or resigned Settle, you wouldnt have had to spend a 2nd round pick filling a hole, and instead could have gotten a top LB/DB OLinemen to actually make this team better, rather than just trying to play catch-up to what it was. He has to be way better than either of them were for this to make any sense.
  12. Some bizarre takes on Gibson apparently. Guy is a top 10 NFL rusher and apparently a failed experiment. I get he had a few fumbles, but of the RBs to get over 200 carries only Taylor, Chubb, Cook and Mitchell were head and shoulders above.
  13. So glad we didnt take another 2nd round RB. Have wasted so much draft capital on high round RBs, when the obvious reality of the NFL is most of the good ones all go in the 3-5 rounds. Absolute waste taking RBs almost every year in the first couple of rounds.
  14. Rulers of rubbles defines Russia very well, and also goes a long way to explain their currency...
  15. A 10 yard sprint is not quick twitch. A 10 yard sprint is straight line acceleration. What quick twitch is, and what Dotson supposedly has, is the 2-3 yard quick lateral and directional acceleration. The quick moves that in traffic, or immediately after catch allow him to jump one way or the other much faster than the other guy. Absolutely nobody is getting a free 5 yard, much less 10 yard straight line run after catching a ball in the NFL, and if he is then I dont care if he runs it in 1.45 or 1.7. Twitch also isnt moving forwards, any defender with the right speed can track a guy whos running straight in the direction... that hes running. Its the ability to change direction(which is what actually gets separation), go side to side, and move at odd/different angles within a moment. Im not saying the guy will be any good or not, but lets be clear about what twitch is(or you can call it agility), what speed is, and what acceleration is.
  16. How? "If you dont accept our deal you get paid $25 million per year and have to play for a better organization, hah!
  17. Exactly, its about the value of the spot. Unless you are convinced a guy is a future HOFer or complete gamechanger, you pick based on value. Or trade based on it. Supposedly this is a really deep draft. Some of the very best players in the NFL in the next 5 years will be drafted in the next 3 rounds of this draft. Experts say much more so than in other drafts. So as long as you have good talent evaluation, loading up with more picks is a more sure way to build a team. Hamilton while great has questions, so does Williams who would likely be Samuel 2.0 after his ACL recovery. A WR taken in the 2nd or 3rd round will be a perennial probowler. Maybe multiple.
  18. What if we trade back again, and get Pitts 20th, a 3rd and a 6th?
  19. I like it, drop back 5 spots with 3-4 players you love still available, and get a 3rd and 4th in a deep draft.
  20. lol, they tried to go to commercial on our pick again, not realizing it was traded to a team they want to show.
  21. And called it, tradeback with the Saints
  22. With the quality of players still available, have to trade down and get at least one midround pick
  23. Right now, for a team like us that wants a WR, S, LB, or wants to trade back and grab one this is working out well. I think this now greatly ups the chance someone trades up to 11 to get the first QB of the draft.
