BatteredFanSyndrome
I have 2 Roy Rogers within 15 minutes of me. There are several of them in this area. Delicious. My mom (RIP) used to love the Doube R burger as well. #1 for me is the Gold Rush sandwich. 21 hours ago, LadySkinsFan said: Plus I always ordered mine without condiments. All Roys sandwiches come without condiments. They have the fixins bar inside or fixins cups to-go. I much prefer to do it myself as the to-go cups tend to be watery. I'd imagine they don't even have that bar anymore since Covid, but maybe it's back. Edited July 21, 2021 by BatteredFanSyndrome
skinsmarydu
It was a special thing with my dad & me when we lived in the burbs, but once we moved to the hills I never saw one again. Funny how that was...??

Funny how that was...?? I believe they had a resurgence. There has always been one in Brunswick, MD, ever since I moved to this area back in the early 90's. But it was the only one that I knew of anywhere around here. Over the past 10-15 years they've been popping up all over the place in the MD/DC/VA/eastern panhandle of WV area. skinsmarydu
I hard-fried an egg, put it on toasted mini bagels with ham and Colby Jack.

The 12th Commandment
Made paella last night. Only got socarrat on about half the pan but at least I didn't burn anything. Sure is a pretty dish.

I hear ya...we served it as a Thursday night special at the Mexican place I worked at years ago. I don't even know where to go to get it now, and I'm damn sure not going through all of that for just me.
PCS
Oh good. Well maybe I'll just put some ribs out on plate and leave them there for the day. High of 99 and that AQI and I should have a good smokey flavor on 'em by this evening.
skinsmarydu
My AQI got to 160 today. Yes, I freaked out a little.
The 12th Commandment
Taco Tuesday. Marinated pork sirloin chops braised slow in citrus, garlic and chile and then crisped up once they're tender. I like making cheap(er) meats where they wind up tender and tasty.
purbeast
Haven't cooked steak in a while and am pretty proud of this boneless ribeye
steve09ru
Tried something a little different for tacos and turned out great! Went with chopped beef (carne picada) and marinated that for about an hour in soy, minced garlic, lime juice and packet of taco seasoning.
skinsmarydu
My big oven is on for the first time in months, heating up the whole house. It was too much stuff for the toaster oven. 😁

BatteredFanSyndrome
Hit Lidl for the first time and I was really impressed. Grass fed ribeyes, 10.99/lb, nice selection of affordable organic produce, and more staples than Aldi carries. Grilled ribeye, corn, carrots, zucchini, ****akis, onions, shi****os, and risotto.

skinsmarydu
I'm still going through the frozen stuff I bought last year...remember when we laughed about the Budweiser-battered fish filets? Well, tonight they've been heavily doctored with Old Bay and ground pepper...they're going on a sandwich with lettuce, tomato, onion, and colby/jack. Loaded baked potato. Edit, add: I put jalapeno juice in the sauce. Edited August 18, 2021 by skinsmarydu

Unfortunately they are closed now, but they had quite a menu.
The 12th Commandment
No doubt it speaks to my age and where I grew up, but when I think of Roy Rogers I think of horrific murders and people locked up in a walk in. Circa mid seventies Alexandria.
