It's silly to speculate considering he has another season to go in Cleveland. I would not rule out Cleveland attempting to trade Thompson or a couple other guys to shake up their lineup.

we did it in 2009 and 2013, tbf.

Yeah, and it was just as annoying :rofl89:

Everyone is always in a hurry to talk about stuff years from now. I hate the same thing talking about politics and people speculate on elections 1 1/2 years or 3 1/2 years away.

There is a lot of speculation that Lebron will be heading to an LA team after next season.

He'll be 34, I hope whatever LA team signs him gives him as long a contract as possible so we can relive the old Kobe side show again.

Interesting conversation and to me it's one reason why Lebron doesn't compare to Jordan. Jordan would do whatever it took to win as far as system, plays to run, and where to operate on the floor. Lebron has never really embraced that. This guy should have be one of the all time post players and he just didn't want to be that. As BRS is saying, Lebron wants iso ball. (facing the basket from the three point line) Speaking of running a bad system, I'll never understand why Cleveland traded for Kevin Love only to make him a 3-pt shooter. If Cleveland went inside more in game 3, they win going away.

Jordan was always more worried about scoring even before he won his first championship vs. the Lakers.  During that series, when Pippen guarded Magic he picked him up full court.

Did Jordan?  No because he was more worried about saving his energy to play offense.

You know who really would do anything to win a championship.  Bill Russell.  He'd rebound, play defense, set picks whatever.  He'd even take it easy so he wouldn't dominate too much and it would seem like Chamberlain was the better player (Russell only made 1st team NBA twice after Chamberlain entered the league) to make Chamberlain over confident.

Bill Russell GOAT.

I sincerely hope you don't believe this.

There are other, reality-based, points about Russell's greatness that you could make than this one.

If Blake Griffin stays in LA, would a Paul, Jordan, Griffin, Lebron team be a super team?  Could it challenge the warriors?

Yeah, they'd be a super team, but they're not beating GS.

As opposed to a league of two teams going against guys who can't touch you?

Russell deserves to be considered one of the best ever, but there's no way he's close to #1. There were guys at Rucker Park who could've been in the NBA back then.

Can you imagine a player like Jason Smith playing in the 50's. He'd destroy them? And that's Jason Smith. lol

It's a good attempt by Kerr but not really. Kerr is fooling himself if the thinks Jordan's bulls that he played for weren't as athletic or somehow less skilled or that the great teams in the 80's were smaller or less skilled. He thinks he being more clever here than he is.

Guys from back then think they're tougher than these warriors... as if that would make up for them being slower, smaller, less athletic, and significantly less skilled.  If toughness counted for that much Steven Adams would run this league.

Deandre Jordan should not be considered as part of any super team. He may be an good player defensively, but he would have minimal impact on GS.
