Guess a lot of players still want that ring.

Yep.

Also, like has been noted, they got folks attention, but thats limit of what they can do here.

Thats what protests are for to start with, up to government to take care of the rest. And for us to vote the right ones to get it done, politicians that actually want to.

NBA did their part, its on rest of us now.

There has to be some feeling of fulfilling your obligation too right?  People are acting like the players don’t owe anyone anything, but they literally do.  Not just players but the NBA as an organization.  The NBA negotiates very large deals for the rights to broadcast their games.  Fans pay to access those games as well.

It’s one thing to boycott a game to make a statement, it’s another to just bounce and refuse to finish the season.

They’re also running out of ways to make statements at this point.  BLM on the court, statements on the jerseys, playoffs twice delayed.... at some point they have to accept they’ve done all they can as basketball players.  If they want to do more they’d need to switch professions.  I don’t say this as an insult to them, there’s just only so much a basketball player can do about the laws of the land.

That and if they had walked away the owners would have cancelled the current CBA and lord knows none of the players want that right now.

Makes sense when you put it like that. A lot of these guys sacrificed a lot, being in the Bubble. Anything more and yeah, theyd have to walk away from it all.

Damn 😟

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29761968/mavericks-kristaps-porzingis-knee-miss-rest-nba-playoff-series-vs-clippers

Mavericks' Kristaps Porzingis to miss rest of NBA playoff series vs. Clippers with lateral meniscus tear

He played on the tear in games two and three, but this was what knocked him out of the last two.  Beating the Clippers without Porzingis is probably too tall an order for the Mavs.  Hopefully he gets healthy for next season.
