2016: Obama's America

interesting in the same way that watching a half an hour ad for an in-the-egg-egg-scrambler is interesting?

or in the same way that watching a 22 year old try to give his first sales presntation and die in the water is interresting ? (while the whole cast from glengary glenn ross watches)

or maybe in the same way that it is "interesting" to read the term paper from teh unquestionably dumbest kid in the class?

one of those??

What an incredibly hot, steaming pile of garbage.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/gog/movies/2016-obamas-america,1230760/critic-review.html

Why is the film called “2016”? D’Souza’s one-sided argument ultimately stoops to fear-mongering of the worst kind, stating in no uncertain terms that, if the president is reelected, the world four years from now will be darkened by the clouds of economic collapse, World War III (thanks to the wholesale renunciation of our nuclear superiority) and a terrifyingly ascendant new “United States of Islam” in the Middle East. These assertions are accompanied by footage of actual dark clouds and horror-movie music.

Looks like this thing makes a Michael Moore movie look like a respectful and insightful documentary. And I am certainly not a MM fan.

But, by the same token, I fail to see any reason why anybody would want to go see the thing.

I can't imagine why people would watch anything from Moore. Literally, he can show you video of a Bush campaign commercial, and it isn't a Bush campaign commercial. Why would anybody want to watch a "documentary", where the "reporter" falsifies evidence? Of things that were on video?

And I agree with you. The timing of this thing, and the title, tells me that this thing is considerably less objective or honest than Moore. (No matter which side he lies for.)

I didn't see anywhere that claimed this was an objective piece.

Looks like **** though. And I don't even really care for Obama.

Interesting how whenever Michael Moore makes a one sided documentary he gets an Oscar nomination but when the other side does the.same thing its to make you "fear" the other side. Shocker the Washington post reviewer didn't like it bc they are a liberal publication. I have not seen it and I don't deny that it probably shows one side but to attack this and praise Moore is hypocritical to say.the least

Who the **** is praising Michael Moore? In fact the only person to mention him in this thread before you, compared this to him and said they are both bull****.

At what point does regurgitating talking points become a mental illness? When they are 10 years old?

I am not defending Moore, his work definitely has a political agenda and I have only seen clips of Farenheit 911, but I don't think he took the "fear" to quite this level. I think Moore was insinuating that Bush only cared about the rich and the military-industrial complex, this guy is saying that Obama wants to destroy America. The imagery is pretty amazing, too. I am digging the (white) Boy Scouts with the flag. If you don't see the racial undertones in that trailer you are blind.

I saw it last week. I was actually falling asleep through parts of it. All it is, the movie version of Dinesh D'Souza's book. All this movie does is re-enforce the opinion one already would have of Obama. Nothing there make you switch your vote.

The audience makeup for my showing was mostly baby boomers and senior citizens and they were clapping at the end.

I thought the title was misleading a little.

Simple, that little thing called "FACTS". MM can produce pieces based on facts and back them up w/ undeniable evidence. D'Souza is a right wing hack w/ a stated bias. His predictions are about as realistic and dependable as Palin's "death panels". Here's a media fluff piece based on fear mongering and hate. People on the right are always quick to talk about their freedoms being threatened. Meanwhile they have zero issues trampling other people's. The NRA and what used to be considered fringe people but now are simply a part of the GOP base. Keep pushing the rhetoric about Obama taking away their guns. They're quick to yell what about my second amendment. All the while blowing by other people's first amendment. You know, that one about religious freedoms. These hate warriors are quick to point at Islam as the largest threat to American freedoms. Does anyone else see the irony in this? According to these same bat crap crazy people by now we should've seen the apocolypse and the UN would have absolute control over America already. But then again they already have plans to turn the country over to transnational corporations.

I think I've seen all of his movies, and while his "bias" may determine what topic he decides to do a film on, he does extensive research and comes up with the truth. For instance, "Farenheit 911" doesn't contain any conspiracy theories. It tells the truth about the first 4 years of the W administration.

I probably will see the movie, because I do pay attention to both sides, (I'm watching Fox News Sunday right now). But from what I've read here in this thread, I won't put it very high on my priority list. Thanks, ES. (On Fox now, Mitt's making pancakes. Gotta love Bisquick.)

Obama has accomplished nothing in 4 years. But given another 4 he will destroy America.

I'm totally buying that.

Nothing? Really? Taking over one sixth of the economy with Obamacare is nothing? Ronald Reagan warned us how the left would begin their effort to transform this nation into a socialist state.

Its just a way to sell a political ad to the people.

It amazes me the people that go see these type of movies on either side. You already know they are biased and full of half truths. Same with the books the talking political heads write
