I expect a 10-7 record which either outright wins the NFC east, or gets us the wild-card game. We have the inside scoop on every NFC team (at least for this year) with our new coaching hires. DQ and Witt know Dak Prescott's weaknesses inside and out. Brian Johnson knows Jalen Hurts' offense and players, and Bobby Johnson knows the Giants weaknesses. Sure, schemes will change every year, but we'll never have a bigger advantage than we do NOW. Nobody knows us. Hell, we don't even know us, lol. That in it's self is a big advantage. I expect a similar year to 2012 where we start out slow before the bye, but finish strong thru the end of the season. We now have coaches who are competent. We can produce players, rather than letting them rot. Weather we sign another OT or WR before the season (which I feel we will do one or both), or go with the players on the current roster, we still have upside in many on this roster. Hell, there's 5-6 O-linemen on the roster that have not been released that could be answers for back-up/rotation, or even a starter at T or G. We have Larry 'The Weasel' Izzo as our ST coach. One of the best in the business. With the new rule changes on kickoffs, I expect Izzo's impact to be 3+ to 6+ points per game average, which will give us the edge in the close games we usually lose as a rule. When was the last time we blocked a punt, FG or extra point? I can't even remember. I'm sure it was pre-Danny Smith. I expect the offense to be average or better before the bye, and to finish just outside the top 10. Having competent OC who mixes up the run and pass, along with a dual-threat QB will open up so many more key match-ups because teams will have to use a fast player to spy our QB and play contain on him. At the very least, play-action will be believable. I expect to start and finish the season with a top 10 D. And finally, I expect to win at least one post season game for the first time in forever. It will be fun to come back to this post after the season and see how close it was, or how much of a homer I was, lol. But for once in 3 decades, I have hope.

Since we’re looking for violent run-and-hit players in our scheme, I wonder if we can trade him to a team whose defensive scheme now requires tiny pansies. A straight swap, perhaps.

Got a scouting report on Evan Williams? When he was picked in the 4th round, I consulted our mock and saw he was taken at the very end of our draft. Made me rather curious.

Of note, I think the Packers drafted 4 of the players I drafted between my two teams. Also of note, my two biggest fallers ended up getting picked by Baltimore.

He will be on the roster week one I reckon, but if he goes out there and gets rag dolled again, he’s not guaranteed week eighteen.

I saw that Hassell has been hot lately! As has House, but in a different way. House seems to be more consistently getting his raw power onto the ball. Is this just Hassell speculation, or are they actually talking about moving him up?

There are a whole bunch of roster moves to make in the coming weeks. On the positional player side alone there are currently three guys who started the season on the roster that are now on the IL: Gallo, Thomas and Robles. One guy who was on the 40 all off season and started on the 60 day DL - Garrett and a stud prospect who has earned a spot - Wood. Thomas’ injury will likely take him through late May and Garrett can stay on the 60 day to about Labor Day weekend. Robles is ready to return. I’d expect him up for the Baltimore series. Call would make the most sense to send down. I think he should be playing CF everyday to build trade value. Gallo is rehabbing in Fredericksburg. He is not far away. I’d expect Lipscomb to be sent down as Senzel and Vargas are doing a respectable job covering third. Then things get interesting. Rosario seems like it’s obvious that he should go. But they’ve kept him this long. What if today is a sign that he’s going to go on a hot streak? If Wood is brought up, what role does Rosario have? Do you want to take Young and Robles out? I wouldn’t. You’d have Wood, Roble, and Young with Winker DH-ing. Additionally, roster spots are just tight right now. Do they return Nunez? That’s possible, but Davey doesn’t really use that spot. So, even if you create space, you’ll have someone getting very few PAs. I can’t see them sending Young down at this point. Meneses has an option, but I think it’d be tough to send him down. He should be nowhere near the cleanup spot, and he doesn’t provide the power that you want at 1B/DH, but he gives you professional ABs and is well liked in the club house. It’s a tough business, but I could see him being out of luck when Garrett and Thomas are ready if Gallo is healthy. This has been a fun team to watch this first month plus. I’m often critical of Martinez, but I think he’s doing a really good job with them even if I disagree with some of his moves. It was awesome listening to Winker in his postgame talking about the organization. They’ve come a long, long way in two years. On the farm notes: Rutledge pitched six scoreless innings and it appears that Hassell may be moving up to AAA on Tuesday as Robles returns.

I think he deserves to be removed from the bench. He didn't like the mandatory sentence so he tried to circumvent the law. Laws are not meant to be circumvented, it doesn't matter if you are a judge or not.

To get Tress' number JD5 would have to buy all the Tress jerseys first right? Isn't that how the NFL does it?
