TK
PRESS RELEASE For Immediate Release April 15, 2015 GRAMMY-NOMINATED RAP SUPERSTAR WALE SET TO PERFORM & ANNOUNCE FOURTH ROUND PICK AT WASHINGTON REDSKINS ANNUAL DRAFT DAY PARTY LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that Washington, D.C. native and Grammy-nominated, international rap superstar Wale will both attend & perform at the Redskins’ annual Draft Day Party presented by Geico at FedExField on Saturday, May 2. A longtime fan of the Redskins, Wale will announce the team’s fourth round pick live, as well as perform some of his biggest hits. All of the team’s Day 3 picks will be announced live on location. Wale, whose new album, “THE ALBUM ABOUT NOTHING,” debuted at #1 on the charts, will add to an already festive event. This marks the first time the Draft Day Party has featured a musical guest. “Having grown up in D.C., I’ve been rockin’ with the Redskins since I was a kid. Since I’m constantly on the road, I have a chain with a large gold Redskins logo pendant, so it’s always close to me wherever I am. I’m truly honored & excited to be a part of Draft Day. Huge thank you to Daniel Snyder & the entire Redskins organization,” says Wale. Admission and parking for the Draft Day Party is free for all fans. Parking lots open at 10 a.m. and fans will be admitted through the Comcast SportsNet Gate (Gate H) at 11 a.m. For more details on the Draft Day Party and to register for the event, visit www.Redskins.com/DraftDay. All fans can watch the NFL Draft on the high definition video boards, as well as tour the Redskins locker room, test their passing and kicking skills, dress like a Redskins player, climb the rock wall, take pictures with the Super Bowl trophies and win exclusive prizes throughout the day through various raffles. A group of current and former Redskins players will be on hand to sign autographs and take pictures with fans, schedules permitting. The Draft Day Party will also feature USA Football "Heads Up Football" tutorials, as well as interactive panels on smaller field stages as part of activities. Fans can stay informed with up to the minute Redskins Draft updates by downloading the Redskins official mobile app at www.redskins.com/fan-zone/mobile-app.html. The app can also be used to participate in the Redskins Draft Day Party scavenger hunt at FedExField for a chance to win prizes.
Burgold
Is fourth round an honor or an insult? I'll go with honor, but he ought to talk to his agent. I've got good news and bad news, Wale. Good news is that your favorite team wants you to announce their pick in the upcoming NFL draft. Bad news is they only think your famous enough to rate a second or maybe third day slot. Llevron
....Hes no Drake...(Props to those that remember this incident lol) His last CD was actually really good. If yall are at all interested I would recommend it. He has refined hhis style with every release. Proud of the guy. Honestly I want to go now and hearing his latest music live is the only reason. Never though I would say that.

Stugein
I like Wale. I think he leans on the N word a bit much, but aside from that I generally like his work. This will be a fun addition to the draft day festivities.

bowhunter
Meh. I'm not sure that this is the best move by our FO. I was considering going, but probably won't now. I was hoping that this would be a tailgate and football experience. Not a fan of rap, but I would really like to see the focus on the team. IMO, whether it's cRAP music or a bluegrass festival it really doesn't matter. The love of our Redskins and watching our new GM work his magic are what draft day parties are all about. Leave the concerts for Harvest-fest.
Renegade7
Some of ya'll talk about Hip-Hop like it kicked your dog or something. Dude is one of the few people from the DMV that despite blowing up has never forgotten that. I haven't lost sight of that, and even though I don't like all his music, he does have a couple very good songs. If he's doing the fourth round pick, who's doing 1 through 3? skinsfan190
I think its an honor. He's always repping Skins and DMV. Wale is killing the game right now. The Album About Nothing (TAAN) is dope. Album of the year right now for me. Still haven't listened to the full Kendrick album yet tho
spjunkies
If he's doing the fourth round pick, who's doing 1 through 3? Roger Badell and whoever the assistant commissioner is.
BurgundyMalaise
Man I respect any figure with a sphere of influence that lovingly and unabashedly supports the Redskins and or the DMV be it Dale Jr., McConaughey, Durant, Darrel Armstrong, Jeffrey Wright or Wale. Wale isn't my favorite rap artist (although he puts it down a lot) but good on him and the Skins marketing team to show some reciprocal love & respect. Wale has some EXCELLENT tracks. HTTR let's kill this draft

Album of the year right now for me. Still haven't listened to the full Kendrick album yet tho I've been reluctant to grab it because 'Ambition' was so bad that it made me skip out on The Gifted. Just felt very overly produced; Miami'ish. If TAAN bring things back to the feel of his earlier stuff I'm all in though. I like that Wale has never been shy about his fandom. He represents the 'skins and the DMV well both on the road and in his music.
MarkB452
This marks the first time the Draft Day Party has featured a musical guest. >> Didn't RGIII try to sing Hail to the Redskins at his first draft day party? ....ES tailgate has had Sons of the Radio performing the last several years. I remember Wale performing at a Dallas game in late Dec several years ago (2009). Redskins lost 13 - 0. It was freezing. The cheerleaders were performing with him and had on their summer outfits. They had been wearing coats during the first half.

asoccerplayer99
Good for him! I bet he's excited, and everyone on this board is jealous. Also, lol @ the PR guy's use of "debuted at #1 on the charts." Sounds about as honest as my resume stating that during the giant gap between jobs I was "self-employed"
