If Cheeseboro (the architect of the fake electors plot) can get away with probation and a meaningless fine, what would Trump’s punishment be if convicted?

Is Trump actually facing jail time or a meaningless slap on the wrist after all this?

Its why Powell and Cheese asking for the rapid trial was marginaly intelligent.  Try the crappy legal maneuvers that have almost no chance of working real quick, then fold like a lawn chair and be first in line for the best deals.  They know the DA wont ask for anything too harsh for the early deals since she wants as many to fold as possible in her hunt for bigger fish.

The real punishment for them will be the backlash they get after they testify. I'm guessing the maga crowd is stunned from the guilty pleas & will regroup soon to go after both of them.

Look, these traitors have enough money stashed away to disappear from public life and live very comfortably. They don't give a **** about the MAGA crowd, it was about power to them, installing Trump as president for life, and having their names in the history books as victors and king makers.

They'll be in the history books alright, as convicted traitors.

Who is Cheesboro rolling over on?  And who would Trump snitch on?

Cheeseboro was charged with racketeering which carries a minimum five year prison sentence. If he can plea out of that with no serious penalty, is Trump actually facing real prison time for the same charges?

You can get away with murder, literally.  If you can deliver a conviction against a high-enough mobster.

Who can Trump flip on?

Chesebro is the tail or maybe mid. Trump is the head of this particular fascist snake.

What's your take on why Chesebro was given a plea deal to begin with?...

No idea as I’m not a prosecutor. But is it possible Trump can get be found guilty and ‘get away with’ a huge fine and no incarceration?

My assumption is the answer to that question can be found in why Chesebro was given a plea deal.

- If Chesebro was given the plea deal he received because he had some vital info and evidence that he traded for a light sentence, then that won't be in play for Trump. Well, unless he testifies against himself and provides evidence of his own guilt lol...if he admits to some glaringly awful and illegal stuff, that could reduce his time in jail and keep from needing a trial.

- If Chesebro was given a plea deal because the prosecutor didn't think they had a strong-enough case to...you know what, that's next to impossible to be the case. If the prosecutor felt that way she wouldn't have indicted Chesebro to begin with. HIGHLY unlikely she only realized she had a weak case right before the trial was supposed to start.

Like any person on trial Trump can choose to submit a guilty plea, via a plea deal or in general. Such a move would likely reduce the sentence he would have been given otherwise. If he takes a plea deal it could reduce the sentence by a substantial amount vs what he would get via going all the way thru the trial and being found guilty.

Given his status as the head of the snake however, I don't think any deal as good as the recent ones would be on the table for him. Plus the guys who get in the door early plea deal wise are the ones that get the sweetheart offers.

On top of that Trump has no-one higher up the foodchain that he can offer as collateral to his own cause like the people below him can. Pretty much all Trump can offer is making the defense's job easier and not wasting everyone's time.

I think it is exceedingly likely his punishments wont meet the recommended standards for his crimes, but it won't just be a fine and community service either.

Putting it here only because it deals with the "big lie" connected to two of Trump's indictments...

It all started last July when media reform activists petitioned the FCC to revoke Fox News’ local broadcast license in Philadelphia over its rampant election fraud propaganda, which is a clear violation of the “character clause” embedded in the Communications Act that the FCC uses to determine if a network should earn and maintain its broadcasting license.

Today, the FCC announced that it is moving forward with its investigation by opening up an “evidentiary hearing” in which citizens and advocacy groups can comment publicly and provide evidence of FOX News’ election lies. FOX News and its army of lawyers adamantly opposed the hearing, but the FCC took the “rare step” of deciding to move forward with it, sending FOX News’ lawyers spiraling into a frenzy.

To make matters worse for FOX News, experts say that if Philadelphia activists are able to get FOX News pulled from the air, it could “be replicable” in other cities and markets all across America. This could be the beginning of the end of FOX “News” as we know it…
