AND it was all before Bezos bought the WAPO.

Also she's done a lot of great work reminding people that Jim Thorpe was an incredible human being and super-human athlete. Lotta folks, especially in this fandom, 100% owe her an apology or two.

The big one would be Joe. Unlikely but it would be sending a big shockwave towards Dan. Your only confidant. The only person willing to help you

Like basically everyone here, I love and revere Coach. But not now, not in the future......we must move on. He's the reason we have RR and Wentz.

I’m just talking about what it would be like for Dan reading that Joe has joined Bezos group

"Smart" and "Snyder" dont belong in the same hemisphere, let alone same sentence...there's truth to us turning down the possible trade haul from Kirk to SF because of Snyder not wanting to deal with Kyle, I believe it...

I really don’t see Jeffrey Lurie selling anytime soon.

Yes and I have explained this. When we watch this game Monday, I will be hoping we win like I have done every time we've played since 79'

Alright, alright, alright!

Actor Matthew McConaughey is joining the Jeff Bezos/Jay-Z-led contingency vying to buy the Washington Commanders from embattled owner Dan Snyder, a source told The Post.

“Matthew has always been a huge fan and his ties with the team go way back,” the source sad. “They support his foundation and he’s good pals with Dan Snyder — he and [supermodel wife Camilla Alves] were on Dan’s yacht over the Super Bowl last year.”

A rep for the “Magic Mike” actor was unavailable for comment.

A longtime fan of the Washington team — as a kid, the team’s star linebacker, Chris Hanburger had nearly the same name as his favorite food — the Texas native is also a co-owner of MLS’ Austin FC franchise.

The Bezos/Jay-Z bid is expected to come in January, The Post has previously reported, with the longtime friends set to join multiple suitors for the team.

Snyder, embroiled in multiple controversies, hired Bank of America Securities to help “consider possible transactions” last week in a potential first step toward selling the franchise. In recent months, he’s been at the center of allegations of sexual misconduct, a toxic workplace and his relationship with other owners.

Snyder purchased the team for $800 million in 1999. Forbes has pegged the Washington franchise value at $5.6 billion. A sale would likely break the NFL’s high-water mark, set by the Broncos’ $4.65 million sale last summer.Matthew McConaughey is a lifelong Washington football fan and friends with current owner Dan Snyder.

The star-studded bid could add another big name to its roster, with Nets superstar Kevin Durant — another longtime fan of the NFL team — also expressing interest in coming aboard.

“In a perfect world, I would be a part of it,” Durant said. “I would love to do it. I would love to give a little bit of my money to be a part of the Commanders, but we’ll see. Hopefully, it’s somebody nice. I heard [Amazon CEO Jeff] Bezos and Jay-Z, but you never know.”

Wait, Magic Mike is the movie they associate with Matthew McConaughey? Like seriously? Guys and their dangly bits are what the NY Post thinks is his best performance and one of his most well known films?

Next, they’ll say Viggo Mortenson from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3.

Hey, people are lining up to be investors.  Don't think this happened to this extent with the Broncos.

Can we compromise on just firing specifically cooleyfan93? I’m sorry but the ES contingent can’t budge on this critical issue.

Cooleyfan93 should be there at the press conference announcing the sale approval.Jeff’s first act as owner- fire Cooleyfan93 on live tv.

As we celebrate this news as it probably means our football team will win more games it's time we give credit to the people who made this happen. First off it all started with the victims who bravely told their story and refused to let this die.  The woman who reportedly turned down over a million dollars in hush money is a damned hero.

This wave of public pressure caused Congress to act and they too should be commended.  I firmly believe forcing Goodell to testify as Snyder hid out on his yacht like a coward was a turning point. Then we have the media, including but certainly not limited to the Washington Post. They all kept the story alive and public pressure on. And that pressure eliminated any chance at a new stadium, the barrage of articles kept the story in the news.  This public pressure alone forced this sale and these are the people who made it all happen..  This wave of public pressure caused Congress to act and they too should be commended.  I firmly believe forcing Goodell to testify as Snyder hid out on his yacht like a coward was a turning point. Different situation. It was an auction. Star power name was irrelevant. Also, it was the Walton family. I don't think they are hanging out with Taylor Swift or Tom Hanks type people.

They could’ve joined the bidding group.

The Walton family did add some people after buying the team. Didn’t Condelizza Rice join the group after the sale.

Interesting that Texan Mathew McConaughney is a Redskins fan.

Yeah there's been several articles about his Redskin fandom, bunch of pics with him on the field hobnobbing with players, Snyder etc. Don't recall seeing him down there in the last several years though.

Well if they go that route, they might as well associate McConaughey with Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation. I guess.
