Sony Mitchel released.

Really.  That's interesting.  Worth a look for sure.

A year ago I'd never say it. But at this point

Give Collins back at Buffalo Nickle.

Your not kidding.  I do not understand that their is no talk about this.  I think the organization did him a little dirty, with the pay cut demands.  Head Scratcher!!

Sony Michel for extremely cheap is worth a look. I’m not sure he’s worth more than Patterson or Williams, though. Especially because they are more up to speed with the playbook. And now he’d cost a roster spot.

Landon Collins should be back already. It’s getting dumb. Unless the team has reached out and he says, “I’d rather not play than play for that franchise ever again.”

Which… makes sense.

Nobody in the league has come calling for Collins.  There was some muttering earlier this summer with Dallas as a backup to Kearse.  But that didn’t go anywhere. He made just a tick under $50M in his career.  Perhaps he’s put it out there that he doesn’t want to come back for relative peanuts.  If his demand is 7-8M to return (roughly a 50% cut from what he averaged over the past three seasons), do you meet that demand?

For a guy that last year proved he can play the role that we need? Yes.

Having said that, I'm willing to bet he still thinks he's a pure safety and doesn't want to play in that hybrid role for less money.

I don't know, the organization gave him huge money to come here and he bombed as a safety...that's their fault for sure but they did make him a rich man who is now out of the league at only 28 years old. I'd like for my organization to do me that dirty.....LOL. Retirement at 28 years old sounds pretty damn good.

Don't understand why he cringes when Mayo is on the field.  The guy is perfectly fine against the run.

You can’t really predict when NFL teams are going to actually run anymore. And they will choose not to run when you present them a juicy mismatch when you try to guess when they will run. Liability in coverage that teams will pick on consistently, even on first down or GL. Not the worst player we could have put there but that says more about our LB depth than him.

Im 57, on my "second" career, still cant actually retire for a few more years. Apparently there is a federal law that says I cant retire before my wife does. I've never seen it in writing but my wife says it exists.

Because this is a passing league and having a one dimensional guy that is a specialist against the run as your #3 LB is so 1995. If Davis or Cole go down, the idea of Mayo defending the Goederts of the league is scary

I have no reason to doubt your wife so you better take her at her word. She sounds like a straight shooter to me.

Very true.  Forgot about Patterson and the fact that Michel would take up a roster spot.  I conquer would have to be on the vet Min.

Mayo runs and changes directions like there's a perpetual layer of 6 inch deep mud on the the field.

I hear you.  I was referring to NFL universe and the unwritten rules as such.  I'm trying to understand why they would not reach out to him, it has to be personal at this point, because he should have been signed months ago.  But to your point yes, nothing to complain about in the real world, just not in NFL world.

Landon Collins? Still doesn't have a home.

The only thing I can assume, is that he still wants to play safety.  Secondarily, he is too young to say i am going to play for (whatever amount) because I want to win.  Maybe he is being offered low salaries with incentives and only Buffalo Nickel possibilities.  Anything else does not make sense.
