Under Ron?  Such as?

Unless you're still hung up about Cody Latimer or somethin...

Not really under Ron.  I’m just thinking of free agent wide outs that have been injury prone.  Namely Richardson, and Jackson, but mostly just Richardson.  Seems like it’s been more.  I’d just like to start the season completely healthy on offense.  But I’ve been following the team longer than Ron has been here, so why should that matter?

I hear you, but we should also look at our IR list for this year and thank our lucky stars.  We ARE healthy, the undercurrent of people pretending that they'd rather have Samuel on IR than at like 90% just so it's no longer a topic of conversation is just a bit much for me.

It's wild to think that Samuel will play if not 100.  The team has been cautious precisely because groin injuries can linger.  There is nothing coming out from our team saying he is going to miss game action.  They took their time so hopefully it will no longer be an issue during the games that count.  I'm excited to see Samuel suit up and have no reason to be concerned about the injury I feel the team handled it the best way possible.

I'm with you, I only alluded to that in a conditioning sense.  Wouldn't be out of the question that he plays somewhat less snaps early on and then it quickly ramps up.

I don't know what to make of Samuel's injury.  It could be that they have simply been extra cautious for obvious reasons, really hope that's it. The other side of the coin is he is still hurt and this could linger and hamper him all season.  You just know they wanted him out there sooner to develop chemistry with his new QB and to develop his conditioning.  So they did this for one of 2 reasons, just hard to know which it is.

This is such a hard game to decide. Very evenly matched. But I think Collins can spy aherbwrt and keep him from being as mobile and Young/Sweat are hungry. I will have faith that our D gives us short field position a lot.

WFT-27

LAC- 20

Gibson with a receiving TD to put us on top. Gibsons total for the day: 22 rushes 98 yards 1 TD and 6 receptions 65 yards 1 TD.

I've been following the team since before Bruce Allen was the team's GM. If we're going to blame Ron for players that Allen held onto, should we also blame Ron for overpriced FAs that Cerrato signed? Or is it Ron's fault that the team held cupcake practices under Jay?

Personally, I think it's Ron's fault that Billy Kilmer started over Sonny Jurgensen in that Super Bowl.

Who’s blaming Ron?  Not me.

I know it's just week 1...an out of conference game none the less but it would be absolutely amazing if the wft can absolutely dominate the chargers in front of what I hope is a full house of mostly burgundy and gold ..is it to soon for an insomniac thread?!???

I think the odds are greater for us to be dominated than for us to be the dominators.

I don't feel good about this match up.  I read an article about the Chargers offensive architects and I didn't realize their passing game coordinator is a Kyle Shanahan guy, and they also hired some RPO specialist to build that into the offense for Herbert.  They're going to run the ball way better than I thought.  That ability to disguise their run and pass looks is what could slow our rush and chip away at the one huge personnel advantage we had over them--our DL vs their OL.  If that's not heavily tilted in our favor, then I don't like the way the rest of the match ups balance out.  Their passing game weapons are slow but big and savvy and can beat our secondary without a great rush, and their secondary can dominate our passing game.

We've got to be able to run the ball.  That's our path to winning the game.  I really think we need to get the ball first and score in order to establish the run.  We need a great script to open the game and we can't fall behind.
