The Trump Riot Aftermath (Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes found guilty of seditious conspiracy. Proud Boys join the club)

She is a martyr in the making, don't doubt it. They will use this deluded woman's death to encourage more violence.

To draw even more correlation,, Hitler tried to overthrow the gov't early on, but the Beer Hall Putsch was put down quickly, resulting in the deaths of some Nazis and Hitler going to prison for less than a year. Once he came out, the Nazis who died were lionized, and it became an annual propaganda event that Hitler and his top henchmen would travel to the spot of the Putsch violence, solemnly parade down the street and lay wreaths on the place they fell. This is one of those events.

If Babbitt had died outside in an area that would not be subject to restriction, you can bet the processions would start.

Thanks. Not out of the woods yet, but out of danger. It'll take a while to clear up.

They already did that the day she died - I remember CNN interviewing some of those waffle stompers and they had set up a makeshift memorial on a fence for her and the other idiots that died

U.S. Magistrate Judge G. Michael Harvey declined to impose tougher restrictions on Duong’s release, noting that the government did not seek to jail Duong as a flight risk or threat to the community. He is charged with illegally entering the Capitol, obstructing the vote count and disorderly conduct — but not with planning or committing violence.

Harvey said Duong had no criminal record and had demonstrated ties to the community; he is employed and lives with his parents and child in Alexandria.

The undercover agent “gave him every opportunity to step over the line, and at every point he chose not to,” Harvey said. “Someone who showed so much concern for what the legal lines are should be given the opportunity — to show he can continue to stay within the lines.”

Just saw on CNN, McCarthy will name Gopers to the Select Committee investigating the Trump terrorist attack on 1/6. The goal is to undermine the committee and deflect any blame on Trump.

I'm surprised he just thought of this honestly.

The clowns he will put on this thing will be epic.

I think the GOP gets to select 5 members.  Allegedly it would included some reasonable people but my guess Trump will tell his minion to appoint all disrupters. Gaetz amd Jordan seem likely. Probably, Nunes also.  When a report is issued, there be 2 reports. The legit one and the Trumpers issuing one.

See, this is where we lose.
Because the adults in the room refuse to say Nope, you're just here to disrupt and derail the work, GTFO, or be escorted the **** out.

This isn't an investigation they voted for, they voted against the formal investigation, in lockstep, every singe ****ing one. So this group formed their OWN.
I see no reason that they "have" to be there.

But they won't do the adult thing, the thing that requires a little backbone, because what, they are afraid the GOP will cry about it? They afraid of the bad press they'll get from Tucker Carlson?

**** them. **** them, and once again **** THEM.

FBI seized 'fully constructed' US Capitol Lego set from home of alleged rioter

The FBI seized a "fully constructed" Lego set of the U.S. Capitol from the home of an alleged insurrectionist.

Prosecutors detailed the finding in a court document for Robert Morss, who was arrested on June 11 at his home in Glenshaw, Pa.

The government argued that Morss should be detained from court pending trial.

According to the court filing dated July 2, law enforcement recovered clothing and other items from Morss’s home that match what he carried on Jan. 6. Among the items were a “'Don’t Tread on Me' flag, a neck gaiter, a military utility bag, a black tourniquet, and military fatigues.”

In addition, “law enforcement also recovered a fully constructed U.S. Capitol Lego set,” prosecutors wrote.

It’s unclear why Morss had the Lego set. The Pittsburg Post-Gazette previously reported that Morss was a substitute social studies teacher.

An attorney for Morss didn’t immediately return a request for comment from The Hill.

But prosecutors also claimed that Morss had three different firearms including a handgun, a shotgun and a rifle. He also had a notebook that included “Step by Step To Create Hometown Militia.”

Morss is one of over 535 people that have been charged in connection with the deadly riots on Jan. 6.

The Department of Justice said last month that Morss led “an assault on police” and organized support from other rioters on the lower west terrace of the Capitol.

This is where I'm at.  At least with infrastructure (although a very narrow scope) there is GOP willingness to sign on to some funding for it, however with most everything the Democrats want to pass legislation for including voter protections, the GOP's stance is they don't want it in the first place.  You can't negotiate over something when the other doesn't want it because they will ultimately stonewall until the the said thing is either widdled down so much it is ineffective anyway or make up a public song & dance about how they weren't part of the process.  Have we all forgotten Obama's struggles getting ACA passed so easily?

The GOP is not interested in an investigation into January 6th.  The only reason they are agreeing to appoint members of the party to the panel is so they can serve up a bunch of clown show soundbites that Fox News can clip on their prime time shows.  And make no mistake they will come off like clowns to everyone else, but it won't matter to the audience that only watches right-wing media anyway because they will just tune into Huckster or InSannity and watch their carefully edited clips combined with their commentary and form their opinions that way.

Honestly, this isn't even about Trump anymore as much as a lot of people think it is.  It's about the future and laying the plans to be able to overturn the will of the people whenever they can't convince the majority of voters to vote for them in elections.  The 2020 election aftermath is going to seem like a cakewalk of a process compared to what's coming unless proper measures are taken to prevent it and so far Manchin and Sinema are unwilling to do what it takes.

Totally agree, ESPECIALLY given that their rejections are done only for the purpose of obstructing anything that isn't their agenda, solely for political gain. They have admitted it out loud time and time again.
They have made their bed, and should be made to lie in it.
And damn is it frustrating that time and time again, the weak ass Democrats allow this, extend the hand of decency, have it bitten, learn nothing and do it again, to the detriment of ALL OF US. These morons complain about "tyranny of the minority" and enable it over and over and over again.

GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger says he suspects GOP knew of Jan. 6 insurrection plans: "I saw the threats"

Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., one of the few Republicans to vehemently deny former President Donald Trump's claims of widespread election fraud, said that he suspects some of his Republican colleagues could have predicted the Capitol riot and even supported it.

"I won't name names, but yes, I do have that suspicion," Kinzinger told the New York Times Magazine in an interview. "I will say, if you just looked at Twitter — the whole reason I brought my gun and kept my staff home and told my wife to stay in the apartment was looking at Twitter. I saw the threats."

Kinzinger specifically called out a Jan. 6 tweet posted by Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., just prior to Trump's rally: "Today is 1776." Critics have speculated that Boebert was either aware of the rioters' plans to breach the U.S. Capitol building and/or calling for violent civilian protest.

"Republicans might have known of the threat"?

The events of the day were designed to produce that result.

The name of the event was "Stop The Steal".  And "The Steal" was the certification of the actual results of the election.

Viera High School teacher arrested on Capitol riot charges, records show

A Viera High School teacher was arrested Tuesday on federal charges in connection with the Capitol riots on Jan. 6, court records show.

Kenneth John Reda, 54, was arrested by FBI agents Tuesday morning on charges of illegally entering Capitol grounds and disorderly conduct.

Brevard County Schools officials confirmed Reda is a physical education teacher at Viera High School. The school district said it will conduct an internal investigation into Reda’s alleged role in the events on Jan. 6. Reda is on leave while the investigation is underway.

Communications officer Russ Bruhn said Reda has also coached football and track and field at Viera High. As of Wednesday, he is no longer an assistant football coach but still remains a teacher.

’'We just have to wait and see what our investigators find, have them go to the school board and kind of go from there,” Bruhn said about the internal investigation in its early phases.

According to the criminal complaint from the FBI, investigators received a tip on Jan. 18 with a screenshot of messages on Parler, the far-right social networking site. The tipster claimed one of the commenters, under the screen name “mrjoebidenhead,” was Reda admitting to being inside the Capitol on Jan. 6. Records obtained from Parler, LLC later confirmed that the account belongs to Reda, according to the criminal complaint.
