Trump’s Crack Impeachment Lawyers Misspelled ‘United States’—Again

Former President Trump’s legal team seems to think proofreading is overrated.

Hardly a week after submitting a legal brief for Trump’s looming Senate impeachment trial that misspelled the words “United States,” they made exactly the same blunder again on Monday in the pre-trial brief laying out their defense.

The 78-page brief referred to the country Trump used to lead as the “Unites States” on page 7. While falling short of perfect, the misstep still marked something of an improvement from their last go, when the team screwed up the name of the country twice, including on the first page.

“President’s Trump speech on January 6, 2021, was not an act encouraging an organized movement to overthrow the Unites States government,” the new document reads.

House managers rebut Trump team's calls to dismiss impeachment case, say evidence is 'overwhelming'

House impeachment managers responded to the final pretrial brief from Donald Trump's legal team on Monday, saying the former president's defense — that such a trial is unconstitutional and that he quickly moved to suppress the violence during the Capitol riot last month — is "wholly without merit."

"The House denies each and every allegation in the answer that denies the acts, knowledge, intent, or wrongful conduct charged against President Trump," the Democratic managers wrote. "The House states that each and every allegation in the article of impeachment is true, and that any affirmative defenses and legal defenses set forth in the answer are wholly without merit."

"The House further states that the article of impeachment properly alleges an impeachable offense under the Constitution, is not subject to a motion to dismiss, is within the jurisdiction of the Senate sitting as a court of impeachment, and should be considered and adjudicated by the Senate sitting as a court of impeachment," they added.

My guess part Deaux last 2-3 weeks. There will be no conviction. I figure the final vote will be 56-44. The 5 republicans who said the trial was constitutional and maybe one retiring gop senator.

To bar Trump, the senate will have to use 14 admemdment. I prefer not to bar him. Let his sorry ass run again; we will just kick his ass again.

Trump Brags Trial Is ‘Accountability’ For House GOPers Who Voted To Impeach Him

Former President Trump has reportedly bragged to aides and advisers that not only does he expect to be acquitted during his second Senate impeachment trial, but that he views trial itself will be as an opportunity for “accountability” for the handful of House Republicans who dared to vote in favor of his impeachment for “incitement of insurrection” last month.

According to CNN on Monday, Trump has turned his post-presidency focus onto punishing the 10 House Republicans who joined Democrats in voting to impeach him for the second time last month after the former president incited the deadly insurrection at the Capitol that left five dead.

One Trump adviser told CNN that the former president offered a twisted view on his second impeachment trial, bragging that House Republicans who voted in favor of impeaching him will face “accountability” for supposedly turning “against the people.” CNN reported that the adviser acknowledged that Trump actively tried to delegitimize the election process after Joe Biden was declared the President-elect.

Former Trump aides remember Trump basking in the spectacle that unfolded during the Capitol riot, according to CNN. One former senior White House official told CNN that Trump was “loving watching the Capitol mob.”

They are sowing the video of the insurrection. Surprised they actually showed Babbit being shot.

I'm glad. These people think this is all a joke. They don't realize that the standard they're setting may get them targeted someday, in the near future.
