At Acme (grocery store here) earlier three older folks (around 50-70 maybe) were discussing their travel plans in the near future and whether or not they should be worried about the virus.  It seemed like they decided it was no big deal, not as bad as the flu, and there was a 97% chance they wouldn't be effected or something like that.  The last part I heard was one of them saying, "Oh you know what I heard is really good for it, is Colloidal Silver."

Our kids have swimming lessons and gymnastics this week.  Trying to decide what to do about all that.  We're not at the point of cancelling all activities yet, but those two in particular seem like breeding grounds.

Interestingly, this stuff seems to keep away from kids and being only problematic for elder people...

I was in Vegas when the Coronavirus started to get so much news coverage.  It really struck me how a casino seems to have the potential to be a "perfect storm" environment for spreading a virus like that.  With the slot machines being touched by hundreds of different people in a day.  People coming from, then returning to all parts of the country/world.  It seems like one infected blackjack dealer could spread the virus like wildfire.

Also, it makes me think about voting booths.  Honestly, it has been a while since I voted, so I don't really know what the procedures are in various places.  Do most places still have pens or little stylists that are used by everyone that goes into the booth?  I think that Washington state has their primary Tuesday, along with several other states.  I'm curious if there are plans to alter any voting procedures to address Coronavirus concerns.  Voting by mail certainly looks more appealing in this situation.

We do have some vote next sunday, some countries here have instigated some stupid procedure that will never been done, like desinfecting the voting booth after every one person going through. That's doable in small voting office, but I can hardly see bigger one complying to this...

Numbers have reached 1126 infected in France and 19 dead. The infected inclued 4 members from the parliament. Hopefully, this virus isn't turning infected people into Zombies. Brad Pitt can stay quiet for now...

Anyway, that pandemic will be a really interesting subject for scientists, medics and politics in the years to come.

Yeah, I noticed that about the kids thing.  Does it skip kids (seems unlikely) or just isn't fatal for them?

I don't think it keeps away from kids, it just doesn't effect them strongly, (unless I'm misunderstanding what I've been reading, or there's been more recent info contradicting this) and they can still spread it to others.

I read some of PCS post earlier in the thread. My take from it is that most kids don’t get symptoms but they still carry and spread it.

That's correct.  And that's why school closures are an effective tool in the containment effort.
