"We traded Baker for a 2024 pick that will probably be our next long snapper.  Let that sink in."

Looks like it’s about 9 teams.  So a little over a quarter.

AFC East:

Patriots - Mac Jones (No change)

Dolphins - Tua (No Change)

Bills - Josh Allen (No Change)

Jets - Zach Wilson (No Change)

AFC South:

Colts - Matt Ryan (CHANGE)

Titans - Tannehill (No Change)

Texans - Davis Mills (I want to record this as a CHANGE because Watson WAS the starter last year until he was told not to show up.)

Jags - Lawrence (No Change)

AFC North

Bengals - Burrow (No Change)

Browns - CHANGE (but not sure who is going to be the starter.  Watson eventually, maybe, but not for week 1.)

Pittsburgh - I'm betting on Pickett (CHANGE)

Ravens - Lamar (No Change)

AFC West

Chiefs - Mahomes (No Change)

Broncos - Russ Wilson (CHANGE)

Chargers - Herbert (No Change)

Raider - Carr (No Change)

So, in the AFC, out of 16 teams, 5 have new starting QBs, if you count the Texans.

NFC East:

Cowboys: Dak (No Change)

Eagles: Hurts (No Change)

Giants: Jones (No Change)

Commanders: Wetnz (CHANGE)

NFC South:

Bucs: Brady (No Change)

Saints: Winston (No Change)

Panthers: Baker Baker the Touchdown Maker (CHANGE)

Falcons: Not sure, but CHANGE (Most likely Mariota, but they drafted Ridder.)

NFC North

Packers: Rodgers (No Change)

Vikings: Kirk "Kurt" Cousins (No Change (but maybe there should be?))

Bears: Fields (No Change)

Lions: Goff (No Change)

NFC West:

Rams: Stafford (No Change)

Seahawks: Locke? (CHANGE)

Cards: Murray (No Change)

49ers: Dunno.  But I'm going with Trey Lance, and I'm going to boldly say that's a CHANGE.  Mostly because I'm not sure Jimmy will be ready for the season and I think they have to play Lance eventually.

And in the NFC, 5 teams have new starting QBs.

So by my logic and count, that's 10, but only 9 through player movement.

Something odd about that: The only one which could be projected to be a rookie is Pitt with Pickett.  Lance with the 49ers would be a quasi rookie.

What's also interesting is next year's QB class is supposed to be deeper.  (We'll see how that plays out, but that's what it looks like now.

The teams which really pretty obviously would be looking for a QB are:

- The Seahawks

- Probably the Lions

- Falcons

- Bucs (unless they think Brady will literally play forever, they have to draft his replacement eventually)

- Maybe the Eagles depending on how well Hurts does

- Texans

- Maybe the Colts because Ryan is 70

So, after 9 new starters this year, there could be as many as 4 or 5 teams who draft rookies who start either right away or pretty quick next year.

It's very possible fully half the league will have new QBs within 2 years after the end of the 2020 season.

I don't THINK there will be any QB retirements at the end of this year except for possibly Brady.  But it's hard to tell with him.  Rodgers just got paid a boatload of money and he's not going to want to give up on that, most likely.  Ryan could if he hits the age wall, but I doubt it.

The list of FA QBs for next year is possibly worse than this year. Who's the best of that list as a starter?  Daniel Jones?  Gardner Minshew?  That there is an uninspiring list.

Sam Darnold, Carolina Panthers.
Teddy Bridgewater, Miami Dolphins.
Mason Rudolph, Pittsburgh Steelers.
Jacoby Brissett, Cleveland Browns.
Gardner Minshew, Philadelphia Eagles.
Daniel Jones, New York Giants.
Drew Lock, Seattle Seahawks.
Taylor Heinicke, Washington Commanders.

Kyler and his coach are 2 reasons why the Cards choke down the stretch and Arizona extended both their contracts.

Arizona will win nothing with either.

Never was a Kyler fan, very happy we didn't go after him then and even more so now.
