La Canfora is purely speculating, but he is also convinced Kyler Murray will be the No. 1 overall pick to the Cardinals. As La Canfora points out, there are not many teams beyond the upper reaches of the draft that need a quarterback this offseason. On the one hand, a third rounder for a former top ten pick sounds like a steal. On the other, if they are willing to give up on a top ten pick after only a year... that sounds pretty toxic. I'd take rosen for a 3rd and if he doesn't become our franchise guy then he's our new backup for cheap on a couple years while we draft a franchise guy. Then perhaps we could trade Rosen for a nice pick back the way NE does. Beats using our 1st, 2nd, future picks to move up to 5 or something. Keenum might not be light years ahead of Colt but he is injury insurance. We still need a young QB to groom. Hell get Grier or that dude from Buff and he could replace Reed. The Skins need a better talent for pass protection. There's many better options for coverage safeties in FA this year. Skins need AP added ASAP for a multitude of reasons. Makes no sense to draft a QB this year. Too many holes and there's far more reasonable logic to wait for 2020 draft for a QB in the draft. Would be better to trade Case Keenum to AZ in the event AZ takes Murray. They'd get a vet backup and possibly a middle pick for Rosen. They need an Edge Rusher, WR, and OG.
