YES .. it seems like every year w the Skins. Of course it might happen to half the teams picking after the 10th overall or so. My ideal scenario at 13 (same as everyone elses): James Ward Fitz R Smith Edmunds If none of the above are there, would love to trade down 3-8 spots. Bobby Peppers
I just watched 40 minutes of highlight reals on YouTube of Payne, Vea and Hurst. I won't post them as it's very easy to search but it seems to me that it's clear who the best of the bunch is. Now highlight reals are obviously misleading however, when your highlight real shows a lot of luck situations, I'm not impressed. IE; the guy who doesn't cause the disruption but benefits from the disruption. It's very easy to see who the best interior DL in this draft is. Take a quick look for yourselves. In won't take 40 minutes but rather 5.

I'd be willing to trade up for either of them if they drop within range but no one else. I'd take any of the others you ID'd at 13 and agree best to trade down if they are all gone. You're absolutely correct... Elite wasn't the correct word. I really just meant prospects who are way above the rest with a considerable difference. I would of thrown in Edmunds based on the consensus but I'm not convinced. He has all the athletic traits and could be great since he's so young but I'd need more of a sample size.. Skinsinparadise
Before 13: Baker Mayfield, J. Allen, J. Rosen, S. Darnold, Barkley, Q. Nelson. Chubb. 7 players So 5 players left among: D. James, M. Fitzpatrick, D. Ward, R. Smith, Edmunds So the only way we are left without one of the top 5 players below is no surprises -- zip, nada. All the mocks with Vea or McGlinchey or Landry or what was said today about L. Jackson might go early -- none of that happens. Instead, we get a by the book predictable draft. That almost never happens. Will see. If it goes down that way, I'd be ok with Vea at 13 but my main preference then would be to try to trade down. My worst case scenario is taking Payne at 13. If you trade down for him fine -- but the only team that seems salivating to take Payne early is the Redskins judging at least by buzz. Payne has been as far down as the 2nd round now in multiple mocks including Jeremiah's. And Jeremiah I recall had one of the most accurate mocks last year. Right now for me: 1. Fitzpatrick 2. James 3. R. Smith 4. Edmonds 5. Ward 6. Vea No one else entices me at 13 that has a fighting chance to drop. If trading down lets say into the teens or early 20s 1. Guice or Michel (if health-background check out for either) 2. Vander Esch 3. H. Landry 4. Hernandez or Ragnow 5. D. Moore 6. Da'Ron Payne 7. Taven Bryan

Vea seems to just overpower people. Payne is a bit of a combo. Hurst is much more of a technician than a power guy. Just my $.02.

HigSkin
If the 30 year old Gerald McCoy rumor has legs, would you all trade for him? Something straight up lower round picks, our 1st and Tampa gives up their higher 2nd + McCoy or no way we should even consider it?

The Consigliere
1 hour ago, Skinsinparadise said: Laconfora's mock. I saw a web site that said he had the most accurate pre draft mock last year. I'd gag if it goes down like this -- not only skipping Fitzpatrick but doing it for Payne. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/la-canforas-2018-nfl-mock-draft-giants-surprise-at-no-2-bills-trade-up-to-get-their-qb/ I don't know if you have tickets on the floor but I saw on TV it looked like they divided sections for fans. the Redskins section looked to be on the right side -- not that far from the stage, if you sit there, you have a shot at TV I'd presume. I would assume they will pan to each fan section just before and just after the pick. Pretty sure he didn't. Some dude in Wisconsin usually wins, but I think some other obscure dude won last year. Kind of a pointless win. My only complaint is when people aren't clear about whether their mock is what they would do given the needs and BPA, or what they hear from sources. The latter can be helpful (smokescreen or true), the former isn't.
Why am I Mr. Pink?
Thats cute. Didnt realize Cravens is trying to "brand" himself with his own name logo ala rg3. c'est la vie i suppose ----------------------------------------------------- Rumors were McCoy was going to raiders for their 2nd rounder. McCoy, who turned 30 last month, remains a front-line player at the position. He is signed through 2020, with base salaries between $10 million and $13 million, and only $500,000 of proration remaining, all in 2018. https://www.bucsnation.com/2018/3/7/17089208/gerald-mccoy-trade-to-raiders-offered-up-as-a-possibility Lets see, we could: A. Resign Scherff to a LTD to bring his cap hit next year of 12.5M down and draft a interior OL in the 2nd round on the cheap for the next 4 years or B. Trade our 2nd rounder for an expensive wrong-side-of-30 big body, eating up 10-13M over the next 3 years and limiting our ability to resign Scherff or Smith. Yea, he was a DE in their 3-4 last year because Chris Baker played the middle but Buc's are actually moving to a true 3-4 this year. McCoy was drafted as a 3-tech. No. But when Dorsey takes Chubb at 4 to bookend what will be the leagues top two ends after Garrett last year, I'm calling him about Ogbah to see if there's anything doing. But that would be too much thinking outside the box for our amateur GM. Hail.

crabbypatty
Here's another possibility that most hadn't considered.. Jordan Howard is still supposedly dangling as trade bait. Maybe teams are waiting until the draft to try and get him for a 5th or something like that. I'd feel better about the skins drafting a DL at 13 if they had a deal for Howard waiting in the wings
Anselmheifer
I'm settling into the likelihood of Vea at 13. I actually think I would prefer Vea at 13 and Reid in round 2, to James at 13 and a second round DT. Per Espn: 39. Justin Reid, S, Stanford* (85) Reid grades out as a plug-and-play starter at free safety. He's a ballhawk with excellent speed and athleticism who has experience playing safety, nickel and cornerback. While he certainly can handle a versatile role in the NFL, we think he's at his best working as a center fielder in a single-high safety look. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/justin-reid?id=32462018-0002-5601-9880-2ac673bf0eed I'd also be happy with OL in round 2, or BPA. Est.1974
At this stage I'm settling on the guess that we look to draft a combination from Payne, Price, Josh Jackson and Guice or Jones II through two rounds (by trading back for an extra pick or two). I wouldn't hate it if they took Payne but for me by a mile its the biggest "meh" pick at 13. If you trade down and get a pick, I wouldn't hate it. I am definitely in the Vea > Payne camp.
