I hope he doesn't beat his kids. We don't want another Tyreek Hill situation on our hands .

100% agree. Also this feeds into the reports that Jay hasn't been consulted. Makes for great news but do you really think a QB pick wouldn't first have some input from Gruden?

Rotoworld had a slightly different take where questioning the decision making on the 2 interceptions but still acknowledge he's a first round talent. Duke QB prospect Jones has six TDs, two INTs Duke redshirt junior QB Daniel Jones completed 30-of-41 passes for 423 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions in Thursday's 56-27 bowl win over Temple. Jones (6'5/220) set career highs in both passing yards and passing touchdowns with Temple missing their best defensive player. The redshirt junior got there by throwing a dart on a quick slant that T.J. Rahming took to the house for an 85-yard touchdown, and Jones also had three red zone passing touchdowns. As usual, Jones showed athletic ability with his legs as well, so it was an overall plus game for the draft-eligible quarterback, but there were a couple brutal decisions and passes that Jones wants back, including two interceptions that went straight to Temple defenders. NFL scouts will need to weigh the good and the bad, but Jones is a first-round candidate if he declares.
  5. Ioannidis getting some PFF love. I know this is a DL thread but check out Dunbar as well. https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-week-1-nfl-team-of-the-week-2018 EDIT: Sorry, I didn't mean to quote Renegade.

I agree about PFF mock drafts. While I think they are the best site for prospect info on actual play and rankings, their mocks are based on what they would do. This is almost always inaccurate.

Different situation. Actually one could argue the "hate" was warranted. It was all about not drafting Leonard Williams. Both very good players and I love Scherff but The Big Cat is more valuable imo...

Just not good value. He could of been had much later in the draft.

You're absolutely correct... Elite wasn't the correct word. I really just meant prospects who are way above the rest with a considerable difference. I would of thrown in Edmunds based on the consensus but I'm not convinced. He has all the athletic traits and could be great since he's so young but I'd need more of a sample size..

I just watched 40 minutes of highlight reals on YouTube of Payne, Vea and Hurst. I won't post them as it's very easy to search but it seems to me that it's clear who the best of the bunch is. Now highlight reals are obviously misleading however, when your highlight real shows a lot of luck situations, I'm not impressed. IE; the guy who doesn't cause the disruption but benefits from the disruption. It's very easy to see who the best interior DL in this draft is. Take a quick look for yourselves. In won't take 40 minutes but rather 5.

Outside of the 4 QB's, there are 7 elite talents in this draft and we need to take any one who drops to us should they fall. I'd rank them in this order for us: Barkley B. Chubb Nelson James Ward Fitzpatrick (Lower than some due to just 13 snaps at outside corner. Should you draft a slot corner this high? I say yes if he's as good as Fitzpatrick) Smith (Last only due to the fact that he is very similar to Brown's skillset. Not the best fit but he is elite) If they are gone, I'd prefer to trade back and draft Vea however, my favorite underrated prospects in the draft are Hurst, Landry, and Josh Jackson. For those of you unfamiliar with Jackson, here is a snippet from PFF: Iowa’s Jackson broke out with a huge season in 2017, not just leading all corners in overall PFF grade in 2017, but he had the highest grade we have seen from any of the corners in this class across their entire college careers. He allowed an NFL passer rating of just 36.5 when targeted on 91 passes, a lower mark than if the quarterback had just thrown the ball at the dirt every play instead. He is also extremely young at the position, having only moved to corner in 2015, so his potential is sky high.
