Warren?

Lots of people seem to have labeled her as "not experienced enough to win, but really has great ideas".

My sense of people's label for Warren is "super smart with great ideas, but I don't like her/want to drink a beer with her."

I don't dislike Beto, I'd vote for him in a second over Trump, but again another candidate that I don't understand why people are so enamored with.  Seems like there is a push to sell him like another Obama, but that just isn't going to work.  Then again it is so early in the process and I am not really enjoying how we are going to have to through a year or so of the "clown car" show before narrowing the thing down to a few candidates and really focus on 2020 General election.

I do see him as very Obama-esque.  Young, energetic, gives a rousing speech, relentlessly positive.  I want to hear more about his positions, but based on his senate run, he seems to be pretty close to the progressive sweet spot for me:  not a far-left Bernie-type socialist, but also not a full-on moderate like Biden.

There is no such thing as the perfect candidate. Every candidate will probably have some views you disagree with, or has made some mistakes.

I just want someone who is forward thinking, adaptable, willing to listen to all opinions but also respects the facts and the truth.

I think Beto fulfills all that, but I actually prefer Biden as President. To me Beto is the ideal Biden running mate. Young and from the south so he can get some of those votes.

I am pretty much on board with your reasoning, but I'm sort of luke warm on Biden.  I'm pretty much over Boomers in power.  I think Biden would be a good President, but I don't think i'd label him as forward thinking.

I think every candidate that has declared has had a few hit pieces come out immediately.  Klobuchar is not nice to her staff, Harris was too harsh as a DA, Elizabeth Warren sort of looks like Hillary.  If nobody is attacking you, then you aren't a serious contender.  I know 2 things:  1.  Nobody is perfect and 2. everybody is more perfect than the current president.

first of all, i can only hope the bernie biden phase is just that, and wish we didn't have to go through it, and it can't end soon enough for me

i feel almost the same about ole beto and gov inslee, and acknowledge all but bernie may be fine in terms of "able to beat trump" but still, rather see the others duke it out without them

I think it is safe to say that Biden's association with Obama might be the only reason he is even considered a viable candidate to be President.  I don't see him really gaining any traction out there before that.

Yes - Biden brings out the warm fuzzies of pre-Trump America.

I think he runs. I think he wins.

Biden is an instant yes for me.

Hes an Everyman.  He rode the train to work in Congress.  He speaks his mind.  He’s experienced loss and has compassion.  He’s like a father figure that this country dreadfully needs.

If Biden runs then he has my full support and I think he is the only one who can really take Trump to the woodshed.  The rest are apt to fall into his tricks of insult exchanges.  O’Rourke, Sanders and Harris are all interesting to me but Biden is the one who I hope makes the ticket.

Biden/Harris or Biden/O’Rourke would be my goal ticket.

I think Biden's issues are going to be (1) he's an old white man, (2) he has a very long voting record, and some of those votes are going to look bad today, and (3) he has a tendency to make gaffes.

If he can hammer the message about his experience, explain some of those votes in a way that makes the issue go away, stay disciplined and, perhaps most importantly, get Obama to actively support him, then h'e's got a really good shot.  I agree with whoever posted that Biden is going to have to ride the Obama train to a victory.

Saw a poll the other day that had favorable/unfavorable ratings in FL for Trump, Bernie, and Biden. It may have been in this thread lol.

Anyway, both Trump and Bernie are -12 approval in FL. Biden is around +12. That's a 24% like/dislike swing in a crucial state between the two leading Dem primary candidates. That's enough for me to be 100% on the Biden train.

Biden/Harris is the ticket imo. That will win and win big.

I really wish Biden would have ran in 2016 and seen where the chips laid against Hillary.  Biden running in 2020 feels a bit too on the nose with the "come save us Biden" narrative.  I am perfectly fine voting for him over Trump because, DUH, but the fact that he didn't run in 2016, in which he would have had the bigger Obama gravy train effect, makes me wonder if that same appeal is still there in the current situation.
