Anyways, after listening to Trump tonight and thinking about how he has acted over the years, he really reminds me of an Old Cartman. Even his voice. TheDoyler23
The notion of too little, too late doesn’t add up when he didn’t pass Biden on any issue tonight. Just because he wasn’t a raving buttmonkey like the first debate isn’t a win tonight.
gbear
Thing is on oil, we should really be looking at what the rest of the world is doing. I dont think nearly enough press was ever made about Down to Earth on Net Flix. The very first episode was on what Iceland is doing. Nevermind Germany moving to go all renewable. Countries all over are moving that direction, and it is doable with today's tech. I think people in Texas and the Dakotas know it too. So, I am not sure it is the political winner Republicans want it to be with the people whose livelihoods are tied to energy. I think many see the writing on the wall w the price of oil. There are costs to getting it people will not want to pay forever. The part about energy independent made me laugh. I call BS. Our costs are tied to worldwide supply and demand. Our costs are not independent of what people in Europe, Canada, or any other trading country in tbe world is willing to pay. The whole sentiment of "energy independence" betrays a very very dated perception of how the world's economies are tied together. Now we are a net supplier of energy products, but that should never be misconstrued as independent or even controlling of prices.

Yes we should be looking at what the world is doing, but we should also note that natural resources are not equally distributed. It’s going to be a hard sell to the electorate that good paying energy jobs should vanish because of what nations without comparable resources are doing. Renewable is the future, that’s clear, so the US should invest heavily in it. That doesn’t mean shutting down the oil fields is going to be popular right now though. Especially not in a badly damaged economy when people are scared enough.

BP, ya know the huge oil and gas company, is transitionIng to be an energy company with a much more diversified way of producing energy. Exxon is currently evaluating country by country all their operations and is laying off thousands. Ya know, cause of market forces. It’s almost like people aren’t paying attention to the shift in energy production already occurring. It’s almost like people aren’t paying attention to the coming EV revolution which will dramatically cut oil needs.

Fergasun
It wouldn't be a big deal if Trump acknowledged that 220k and more people have died and will die of COVID. "I had it and I lived, its no big deal" "My son had it and he had no symptoms, its no big deal." "I joke about COVID." (we all know he wasn't) "A vaccine is weeks away!" "But, I won't guarantee that statement."

His taxes, infrastructure, health care, and vaccines. It’s always weeks away or very soon. Only it never happens. It’s incredible to me that a sitting president would present himself for reelection without a healthcare plan. We’re supposed to be choosing, and the guy in office is that guy with no plans? It’s literally his job to have one.
Bacon
Can't really picture an undecided voter in Pennsylvania waiting with bated breath for so-called socialist commie Democrat Joe Biden's policy on fossil fuels so they can finally fill out their mail in ballot. Hasn't weaning off fossil fuels been a Dem talking point since the 1970s?

Fergasun
Undecided Frank Luntz voter group: "Joe Biden lacks details" Really.... He is going to do Obama 2.0 basically, do people over 30 not understand what policies Democrat and Republican adminstrations take on? Are these the people Trump cons? "Before COVID, some very interesting people were cheering for me, they reached out to me, people you would be surprised quite frankly. "Look at Biden talking to the American people, a politician... (mocks Biden)...." (Trump, you became a politcian when you married the GOP and exchanged vows with them. You could have been very different as a President... but you decided to be as partisan as GOP.) My California Presidential vote won't have the same weight as a battleground state vote, but I am turning it in tommorrow and want to see this joker lose the popular vote by a ton. If he does eek out a win, for sure he will not have a mandate.
