While funny, what America really needs (at least in terms of what's actually possible) isn't full Democratic control of the government, but two viable good-faith parties that will butt heads over actual disagreements (as opposed to political gamesmanship) but willing to make good faith compromises.

Notice how the term "Trump Derangement Syndrome" isn't being tossed around so much anymore?  Maybe because a lot of people had predicted something like Wednesday and were called crazy for the last two years.  Many opportunities to stop it before it happened too.

You know what? I love this.  The entire sane world - corporate, tech, people - is finally telling this slimy human being to STFU, and taking steps to snatch the megaphone from his tiny grubby fingers.

If they really want to hit him where it hurts, hit him in the wallet.  He's got loans coming due.  Banks should refuse to negotiate with him or change terms.  Bank accounts should be frozen as they do with other criminal entities.  Repossess anything he defaults on.  Apply the standard of not letting criminals profit from their crimes (no book deals, or profits go to charities).  Let him die a pauper.  Sit back and enjoy as his children fight for scraps.

The man is delusional:

Trump Having Second Thoughts About That Concession Video

Donald Trump’s most loyal supporters feel angry and betrayed over the Thursday video in which the president tried to distance himself from a pro-Trump riot in Congress, despite the president’s advisers assuring him he had not alienated too many of his fans.

Shortly after his White House video—in which a scripted President Trump acknowledged that a transition to a “new” administration was underway, but stopped short of even admitting that he indeed lost fairly to his 2020 Democratic opponent—posted online, Trump started having second thoughts. Throughout the evening, the outgoing, increasingly authoritarian leader of the free world quizzed close advisers and White House officials about whether or not he did the right thing and if the reception from the public, the media, and his supporters was “good,” according to two people with direct knowledge of the conversations on Thursday. He asked if his supporters felt let down.

And, with the nation still reeling from the week’s tumult and deaths, the president is also now looking to other ways he can make himself look “good,” recent casualties aside. According to two people with knowledge of the situation, Trump and some close to him are now discussing the possibility of him doing multiple media interviews as soon as next week to attempt to highlight his legacy, including with an interview they're hoping to focus on the Middle East deals he and his son-in-law, senior adviser Jared Kushner, helped strike. Even though certain top officials want him to lie low as much as possible, Trump, the sources say, is excited and keen on sitting for interviews in the coming days—because he says he wants to showcase as many of his and his administration's “amazing achievements” before his time in office is up.

This should help decrease his income. Shopify suspended his account.

No media outlet should do those interviews with him. Maybe Fox will or the other right wing propagandist outlets will.

i think what democrats have now accomplish that though. 2 wings of the democratic party - the progressive wing that actually wants substantial change that will help poor people, and the moderate wing that will keep things a little more thought out & realistic. those 2 can debate all they want, because lets be real, the other party has completely fallen off the cliff and are useless

I'm going to disagree wid the ACLU on this one. Insurrection and sedition have to violate the terms of service agreements?

While I agree the use of twitter to plan and instigate a coup would violate terms of service of twitter, the ACLU has a valid point. Social media has become the ways in which public speech is made to a large extent. Where exactly that speech becomes yelling "fire" in a crowded theater (when no fire exists) as opposed to making unpopular statements I really don't know.

Limiting speech in any arena pretty much is the definition of a slippery slope though there have to be limits...it's complicated far above my pay grade.
