Why can't you ever just look at a Republican and say, "Yeah, probably not the best choice there." Instead of constantly throwing shade on someone else in order to divert the examination of an obviously problematic nomination.

Flynn, Rience and Kelley good choices, Bannon and Sessions probably not the best choice....Happy?

Examine all ya want, just not in a vacuum.

How is anyone examining in a vacuum? A candidate for a position is named and people are examining their records. What aspects are being overlooked and why shouldn't things they have said be problematic?

Some seem to object to looking beyond their objections......some obviously don't even know the record.:)

For GOP, I think Sessions is a good choice for AG.  It signals "tough on immigration" and he at least has some pretty decent experience in Federal Government.  He is a far righter as well, so this signals strength on the anti-Muslim side as well.

Trump is pretty much a "B" or "C" list politician, even if it is his."A" list celebrity status that got him elected.

He needs to make sure he fills his cabinet with "A" or at least "B" list folks.  Honestly, Romney, McCain, even some of the past Bush Admin folks, even some of the Obama people (Flournoy) would be solid "A" picks.

Sessions, Haley.- they are "B" ---but he could have done worse.  Treasury Sec will be very interesting.

ugh why does the Libertarian party have to be such a joke, Republicans kill me on drug policy.. my only hope on that is that a 'conservative' will respect 'states rights' in respect to DC's recent ballot measure.

Edit: Realized my comment assumed a ton of context on DC drug laws. Not that long ago, DC voted to make weed legal. Congress responded by not allowing DC to be able to fund dispensaries for legal distribution. It created this weird market where you aren't really allowed to sell it, but there is no punishment for having it. Basically this year has been a boon on drug dealers in that regard.

DC recently passed a ballot measure that would appeal to congress to grant statehood. Likely won't happen, but hopefully it can be used to allow them to have slightly more respect / autonomy when it comes to other votes.
