goskins10
It's being reported out of Tampa that Earnest Byner is coming back to Washington to be the running backs coach. I don't know that it's been confirmed yet, but if this is true, I like it. The link is below. He has helped Chris Johnson and Doug Martin not to mention he helped Tampa keep some semblance of a running game last year when Martin went down. http://www.sportstalkflorida.com/source-former-bucs-rb-coach-earnest-byner-returning-to-redskins/
Genghis Khan
Didn't we have two running back coaches in his previous stint here.
Lombardi's_kid_brother
This always struck me as the easiest job in football. "Pad level, son!" "Get those knees pumping!" "Cover the tips!" That's about it, right?
LoudMouth12thMan
This always struck me as the easiest job in football. "Pad level, son!" "Get those knees pumping!" "Cover the tips!" That's about it, right? Except for the catching aspect and discipline/technique in the screen game. We have sucked at catching the ball out of the backfield and running HB Screens and Draws.....sucked....terrible across the board. I'd like to see, as would many of us I'm sure, a more well rounded utilization of our RB's.
Gibbs Hog Heaven
VERY solid first positional hire Coach. Welcome 'home' #21. Now go add Munchak for the front 5 and make Alberts smile even wider. Hail.

Always A Commander Never A Captain
Saw this elsewhere: http://www.bucsnation.com/2013/6/2/4389582/earnest-byner-may-be-the-greatest-running-backs-coach-in-the-nfl He's had a very impressive career as a RB coach. skins_4_life
This is an awesome pick up if its true. He's worked with some great backs.... Jamal Lewis, Clinton Portis, Chris Johnson, Maurice Jones-Drew and Doug Martin!!! Its time we bring back some HOG pride. Now they need to go and get RUSS GRIMM!!!! Mr. Sinister
What about Grimm for OL to make it a full Redskin reunion? They should bring back Dexter Manley as the team appointed rah rah guy...
Gibbs Hog Heaven
They should bring back Dexter Manley as the team appointed rah rah guy... Just for Dallas games. If you think the rivalries dead, just get Dex on the mic. He makes Coach Allen sound like a Cowboys sympathiser. Hail.
AlvinWaltonIsMyBoy
Nice hire. Loved Byner as a player and he has a great resume. Good pick up for us.
Gibbs Hog Heaven
What about Grimm for OL to make it a full Redskin reunion? I'll be perfectly honest I know little about Russ as a coach. What sort of backs has had under his tutelage? I know he's been out for a year, and doesn't seem to of gotten much of any HC interest since that Steelers debacle. Hail. *Edit* Lines sorry. Not backs. Typed too fast.
DogofWar1
Very nice pickup. He's done very well in the past, and hopefully he, Morris, and maybe Helu can work together well and make our running attack even more potent.

Mr. Sinister
who is this Albert you speak of? Clearly it's Albert Connell, who we may bring back in a role not yet determined by staff.

That's about it, right? The biggest adjustment is teaching a back pass pro. They have to be in sync with the rest of the O-line. Then there's also the passing game; check - release, option routes, etc. There's a lot of drill work that goes on to help them make the right cuts at the right moment.
