Momma There Goes That Man
It has always been possible and will be next year, too. I personally feel like its imperative to do well, to make those 1sts suck. Why do we care if the 1sts suck or not? They aren't ours anymore so what difference does it make other than making our picks in every other round worse?
elkabong82
Trolling, really? I had the same thought when the Bucs and Jags won today. That pick is inching closer to #1 overall. So you're having 2nd thoughts on the RG3 trade? Perhaps there is a legitimate question to be asked of this topic, but the way it is presented here does come off as trolling. Not my fault if you can't see it, nor the general replies to this thread. Also, are you really THAT down on the team that you think they'll end up worse than the Jags, Falcons, Texans, Vikings and teams tied with us as well? This team is going to finish with 6-8 wins. Bonez3
Not a troll because he's been here a while. But I agree, trolly question. It's offset by the playoff run last year nobody should have expected, even those execs involved in the trade. So the top 5 this year is a wash. Frankly, I'm hoping for a nice, early second rounder. We burnt STL last year with our surprise run. The #1 overall would only even out trade IMO. (how's that whole Bradford thing working?)
BRAVEONTHEWARPATH93
As far as the topic goes, we can't worry about that. We made our decision and we have to stand by it. RGIII is our guy and we'll be fine. But it is not all that implausible that the Rams get a top 5 pick. Besides the Rams are a ways off. Their team as a whole is still ****ty and now they have Bradford coming off of a torn ACL

My thoughts on the RGIII trade were it would either make or break this franchise for the next several years. Loved the talent, but didn't like his skinny frame. He still has a ways to go to prove the trade was worth it IMO. As for the 2014 pick, the Rams could be in position for another big trade if it ends up being #1 overall. They seem content with building around Bradford and probably wouldn't go for Clowney. The Rams-Skins trade could potentially go down as a "Hershcel Walker trade" for the Rams. RandyHolt
Why do we care if the 1sts suck or not? They aren't ours anymore so what difference does it make other than making our picks in every other round worse? "We" don't. That is why I said "personally". I always want the team to do well. Don't you? Its the same thing as tanking the value of the Rams 1st. If you want the team to do well, we actually agree on this
Bishop Hammer
The Redskins won't go to # 1. Top 3 probably but a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Griffin is a good quarterback (a position the team would draft with this hypothetical one pick, anyway). When you have franchise QB the biggest piece of the puzzle is solved. Butters
Who cares? It is a sunk cost. The higher the pick the better at this point.

Mr. Sinister
Is it possible to rate this thread 0 stars? 4 teams with worse records and we have winnable games left. Thread comes off as trolling. This
TD Riggo
With the Jags and Bucs winning today we are that much closer to giving the Rams the top pick or top 5 at least. Have anybody had 2nd thoughts on the RG3 trade? No. Next question.
TD Riggo
Thread comes off as trolling. 9 out of 10 threads started in the last 11 months would be considered trolling. Thus the reason that I spend a lot less time on ES. I've never seen such a bunch of negative nancys as I do here since the last kindergarten Christmas play! NoCalMike
We need to get over the trade to get Robert. It happened, it's over with, and another team desperate for a QB will do the same in the future if prospects like Luck and/or RG3 are sitting there to be drafted. The fact is, if Robert is indeed a franchise QB for the next decade plus...then the trade was worth it PERIOD. The salary cap restriction IMO was a bigger handcuff on the team's ability to improve over the past couple of seasons then that trade.
Springfield
As long as we aren't giving our 30-something million to the Rams I could not give one **** less. Let them have our first.
CapnRedskins
Keep in mind they made the trade for Griffin before the $36 Million cap penalty. They made it thinking they'd have plenty of money to give him a better supporting cast via free agency. I honestly doubt they make the trade with the Rams if the penalty is given to them beforehand
abdcskins
Just wanna say that the Rams are closer to being good than people think. They have weapons on offense. And yeah, as of now I sort of regret the trade. But as RG3 (hopefully) gets better and we (hopefully) are able to add pieces on defense and offense, the trade will look better. Boss_Hogg
So what? It just means the Skins will have the 33rd overall pick. Perhaps this is another bash RGIII thread in disguise. We should merge all the haterade threads into one, it would certainly free up some board space.

Taylor703
Well we still wouldn't have a franchise QB with pretty much none in sight. Bridgewater is nowhere near the talent Griffin is and Haslett would ruin Clowney. We made the correct decision and we all knew there was a chance the picks the rams got in return would be relatively high as Griffin developed. They can have the picks, I'd much rather have Griffin and our cap space back.
HogHeaven1983
We could have had Russell Wilson in the 2nd or 3rd round. An infinitely better QB than RG. And kept all those picks to improve our piss poor team. Wilson is 100x more mature and instinctive than RG. Like night and day. What we have is an egotistical, immature, prima donna with little very little pocket QB talent. Just a slower, more injury prone version of Michael Vick, without the dogs
