Hmm, might bite on that. Only 35.99.

If it was handled with the kind of tlc similar to Alien: Isolation, im in

I'm not going to recommend it, last game I did was NMS :(  Epic Fail, though all of us were mislead by the tweets, interviews, etc. from the creators.  But, as huge fan of the horror genre, I love it.  I know you don't typically like multiplayer games, this one is all multiplayer.  Now you don't necessarily have to mic up and talk to anyone, though it can help at times.

Right now, they are having issues with the match making on quick match (at least on Xbox1) so like S.T. RLO said, you can join the Friday The 13th club on Xbox1 and find groups to play with.  Some I've talked to mic'd up and some I've just played with no mic.  The game is getting mixed reviews from what I can tell.  I'm not one for ratings/reviews though, like everything, that's just some other persons opinion.

I can see where it might get to a point where it could be repetitious for some and become boring.  That's a complaint I've read.  So for each person, when you hit that point where you no longer are having fun, is different.  I don't see me not having a blast playing it for a while and even then, I can step away for a few weeks/month and come back and play and I'm sure have a blast.

As you level up XP (overall) you unlock new counselors to play and new versions of Jason which all have different abilities.  You also earn in game points/bucks to unlock abilities on the counselors as well as kill moves that Jason does (e.g. sprint faster/longer for counselor or rip out their heart kill for Jason).  If you are a counselor you can try to hide and survive or escape.  But escaping isn't easy.  There are multiple ways like finding the car battery, keys and fuel and driving away (which I've yet to see done), find the fuse for a fuse box to call the cops and make it to the escape area in a specific count down time (which I just did for the first time last game), escape in a boat which needs fuel (think thats the only thing).

You can also call in Tommy Jarvis on a radio.  Once one or two counselors escape or die and the call is made, it will randomly select one of the finished players and respawn them as Tommy, which is pretty cool.  Jason has some pretty sweet abilities like teleport and shift where he can teleport to any spot on the map (has a cool down) or he can shift which allows him to see like a tunnel vision and come up behind a running counselor and appear behind them or even in front of them.  Which are needed cause he really can only walk and sprint really really slow.

I'd recommend watching some youtube vids of the gameplay before buying it, even though its only $35.  Matches can last for close to 20 mins and a lot of time you are hiding, lurking, etc.  trying to survive.  Unless you are lucky and get picked to be Jason and stalk everyone.

Is it on PS4 or Xbox only? Friday 13th

It's on both consoles.  Not sure how the gameplay is on PS4 or if they are having the same issues as XB1 or not.  Reason I bought it on XB1 was my best friends growing up are both horror movie junkies like me and both have the XB1.  So I bought it to play with them.

I think I may have misrepresented my actual position on mp. I'm not really anti-multiplayer. I prefer a market where both single player and multiplayer games could coexist together, but certain companies seemed to start catering more towards multiplayer, because they knew that a lot of people would only play games that featured that. I enjoyed military shooters, but now that they seem more multiplayer centered, I really don't bother anymore. I know some still feature campaign modes, but I wish they didn't. I think there should just be multiplayer games, and single player games, and leave it at that.  like co-op, where a bunch of people work together towards a common goal. I don't like head to head, because people are sheisty, and the rest are so good, it's simply not fun playing them.

I'll look into Jason. Meanwhile, if any of you still haven't played it, I still highly recommend Alien:Isolation. Constant duress is the best way to describe it. There are no special scare spots, or scarier levels than others. You are simply there, and it is there with you, anytime, anyplace, anywhere.

It's definitely a co-op game if you want to work together to try and kill Jason or even escape.  But you can play solo too, just hide and move around trying to avoid him and escape or survive the 20 mins.  What sucks is usually when I have a great hiding place, one of the peeps getting chased by Jason runs by me too, exposing me.  And there have been a few times where I was all alone, and lost connection to the host when I think I was about to survive the 20 mins (or whatever the time limit is), which pisses me off.

But all in all, as a horror fan, this **** is great.  After you die, you can follow the other players including Jason and watch them get destroyed lol

I wouldn't mind playing it with you guys if you all are getting it. I don't really know anyone in my usual group of gamers who is playing it.

Proximity chat helped make Halo 2 online special so i am excited to see it on here.

I'll roll with ya when I can GB and Momma.  I know STRLO is on my friends list too, so if we can get up with him and his friends, we could have 6-8 easily.  Talking XB1, I'm not going to buy it on both consoles.

So I just beat Mass Effect: Andromeda and I'm not really seeing where the hate is coming from. Few thoughts:

1. The new story is dope. A great balance of intrigue with the Remnant and danger with the Kett.

2. The actual gameplay is the best of any mass effect game so far. I essentially played half the game as a tech specialist and the other as an in your face biotic.

3. I read a lot of people ****ing that the decisions you make feel inconsequential since not all of them tie into the endgame, but that was pretty much the case in ME1 as well. This is a game where choices go from one game to the next. I suspect many of the decisions will come in play either in DLC or in the next game.

I feel like people are comparing this game to the enterity of the ME original trilogy. I think it's much more fair to compare it instead to ME:1 which set up ME2 and ME3.

If you go back and play ME1, that game really kind of sucked besides having a great story. The gunplay and RPG mechanics were horrendous, but no one cared back then because it set up a really awesome universe and series.

Welcome to the club. Warhead, myself and Gamebreaker have played it and have echoed similar thoughts. It really is amazing. Seems like a lot of politics at play

I'm doing my second playthrough as the female twin in Andromeda now. Basically using her as a biotic who's abilities revolve around charge and slam. My first playthrough I was a sniper who used incinerate, push and singularity. I know bioware has pretty much repurposed the Montreal studio and put the series on hiatus, but I hope they still release whatever planned DLC they had in store. I really want to find out what happened to the Quarian ark.

Well, given what you all have said though, I think it is fair to view that as a step back in some regards, if you view Andromeda as comparable to ME1 in that some parts are sort of messed up or clunky or just not good.

Following ME 2-3, expectations are that we are beyond that and the starting point was moved forward for future releases in the series. I can see how it would be disappointing to feel like you've gone back to ME1, not in terms of gameplay style or setting up better sequels, just in some of the flaws that are legitimate.

I think it's a step forward in terms of everything but the story. And that kind of story is a rare one. Even by 2007 standards, ME1's gameplay is primitive. There's also the infinite ammo thing, which makes the combat less competitive. And the power usage is a joke by comparison. The only noticeable bug I came across on two separate playthroughs, was the Contagion quest. The facial animations aren't great, but quite frankly, it's not something that I worry about, as a gamer. I am meat and potatoes.

Certainly, in terms of aesthetics, it could have been better, but then again, so could have the ME Trilogy. I just found a lot of the complaints childish, outright misleading at times, and reeking of a vendetta. And (from my perspective as someone who's played it, twice) that is my honest to god evaluation of it

I'm willing to bet it was

Spoiler

The Reapers. After all, it was established that not every ark left at the same time. The message was apparently a warning, not a distress signal. Makes sense

I agree with Sinister on all of that in regards to Andromeda. I also think the last two patches have improved the facial animations dramatically. They never bothered me that much anyway. On my first playthrough I did the default male Ryder, who most people didn't complain about anyway. On my second one, I found a subreddit where the community began posting the best Ryder faces, and I chose the hottest female I saw on it(I'll try to upload a pic whenever I get the chance). There's even a website you can go to that will allow you to upload other player's appearance slides. Super easy.

As cool as that would be, I don't think they want to use too much from the previous trilogy. I'm betting it's

the Kett lead by a different faction of their society.

The story is literally the only thing the original trilogy has on ME:A. And it was always going to be tough to follow up on it.

But I think this game set up a really great storyline of its own.

The Kett are really quite interesting and aren't like the other primary enemies we've seen in the series. I am interested in seeing what they reveal about the political system of their specie. They kind of left it open ended in terms of the Kett in Heleus communicating with wherever their primary home is located within Andromeda.

I also kind of like that humans entered Heleus not as some **** ass weaklings that every other intelligent race looks down upon, like we were portrayed at the beginning of ME1. We finish ME:A as basically the alpha, and even throughout the story it seemed like we had the upper hand against the Archon and the Kett. I am interested in seeing if they continue to roll in this direction, with humans, instead of being the underdogs, are actually the aggressor in the galaxy, just conquering ****.

Yeah as crazy and unhinged as the Archon was, it seemed his subordinate, the one that led the revolt, and some of the others were bound by several laws. Wouldn't shock me if the Initiative and the Angara wage further war against the Kett, only to find that there is a massive disconnect, and they are more diverse in their opinions. Also, there's still the Jardaan, and the Scourge still to figure out

I got banned from Xbox Live last week.  How long do these things last?

I can't join parties, or play online.  Kind of defeats the purpose of the device.

Anyone been down this road before?

I have, it lasts anywhere from 24 hours plus.  Most likely just 24 hours the first time.  Maybe a week depending on what you said/msg someone in game.

I think you can log into your account on a PC/laptop and find out why and how long.  As it impacts your overall reputation.

Edit:  I got mine due to someone getting ticked off at me in Rainbow Six Siege and sending me a message.  I don't remember my exact response, but it included foul language and possibly the word mom.  I kept responding back to the person, he trolled and baited me, but I didn't care.

Thing is, I switched back to one of my PS4 games and didn't even know I was banned until I was reading my emails on the account I have my MS Live/Xbox set up through.  I was about a week behind and found out I had been banned, but since I hadn't turned on the XB in that long, it didn't really impact me.

My friend caught a 24 hour ban the other night for the same thing.  I told him not to even respond to the guy, he did and got reported and banned 24 hours for one message.

Edit 2:  I thought it told you how long, but I couldn't find it anywhere.  You can search "Xbox Enforcement" and on that page log in with the email address and password for your live account.  It has a place to check suspensions/bans and if still active, you can actually submit a case status for review.  Also, it listed in there that the bans are typically 1 day, 7 day or 14 day based on how many complaints you receive or the severity of the complaint.  So it can take one complaint if you went completely off and got way out of line or it might take a bunch of complaints for smack talk responses.
