Ben Simmons is in the first year of a 5yr/170M contract.  The process is busted.

This is buy low time on Ben Simmons.  This summer, the Philly FO is going to come to grips with the fact that their roster construction doesn't quite work and Simmons is the one they'll move because Embiid is a much less limited and more interesting player and a far easier sell as the franchise cornerstone despite his injury history.

I really, really wish Russell Westbrook didn't have his damn player option for 22-23 because then he would provide the perfect opportunity to pick Philly's pocket for Simmons.  He'd be a massive expiring and give Philly the opportunity to escape Simmons's deal while replacing him with a "star" PG who doesn't have the same offensive limitations.

From the Wizards's end, what have we got to lose?  We're not going to rebuild and this is a way to avoid it and steal value from a reeling organization.  We can play defense at all and Simmons is the one big money player in the league who can both run point and change our defense that might be available.

The Mavericks are suddenly imploding.  The GM left because he can’t get along with the professional gambler Cuban hired. Luka hates this move… almost as much as he hates Porzingas, who he refuses to pass the ball to.  Oh and Rick Carlisle just up and quit with years remaining on his contract.

It’s remarkable how short the benches have gotten in this series.

both teams only have six players that have played more than 5 minutes in this game.

Doris complimented James a harden on defense while the replay shows he clearly fouled.  Missed the ball and grabbed a Middletons hand.  lol

The more game 7s the mo better. KD had to play his best game ever for the nets to win game 5. Might need similar Saturday or whenever game 7 is

the talent drop off is pretty amazing now that all the backups are in.

They might as trade Gilgeous-Alexander now.  He needs to develop as a PG, IMO.

OKC isn't actually planning on doing anything with Walker.  They made the trade to pick up the 1st round pick.  I wouldn't be shocked if they do the same thing with Walker as they did with Horford (told him to just stay home).

They traded a bad contract (Horford) for a worse contract (Walker) and picked up a 1st round pick for doing so.

(Attaching the first round pick to get rid of Horford in the first place was a panic move by the Sixers and is part of why they are where they are now.)

The NBA needs to tell OKC that it’s time to start trying to win and not just collect picks. It’s getting absurd.

They have 36 total picks over the next seven years.  I feel like they are loading up to make a godfather offer of picks to someone one year so they can make another big 3.  They have four first round picks this year and again in 2023 lol.  Their own pick is currently in line for fourth in a chalk lottery.  What they can do is make sure they get one of the big five prospects in the class, because someone will get stuck at a slot where that player duplicates something they already have and be willing to make a small jump down in order to pick up additional first rounders.  And then they can probably use their 2023 haul to get someone really good at the top of the draft.  The rest of their extra picks they can use to buttress the roster with trades and such as their new big 3 grows up.

I feel like they're definitely going to get Jalen Green or Jonathan Kuminga this year, then finish off their foundation work next year with a top three pick.  It's impressive.  They piled up tools super fast just by recognizing they were stuck, weaponizing their cap space, and using mediocre assets to bargain with cash-strapped and desperate teams who undervalued their picks.
