Xero21
One of their writers just put out a Top 51 list. Glad to see something like this amidst all the doom and gloom. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/11/07/pff-top-51/3/ 28. Trent Williams, LT, WASI remember when Williams looked massively out of his depth as a rookie. Now he just fends off pass rushers with the kind of ease you’d expect from a man taken fourth overall. The five penalties aren’t ideal, but he’s one of these rare tackles who can do a job in pass protection and contribute in the run game. Taking the step to elite status. Key Stat: His 97.2 pass blocking efficiency is fourth of all left tackles.

zoony
He has had an excellent season. He looks like a top 5 pick out there
TSO
For me, this is more evidence that Shanahan's plan needs time. Trent is playing his best football in year 3 of his career after so many were willing to depart with him last year, even before his stupidity landed him a suspension. DC9
I've said all year that Trent and Monty have played very well this season... almost Pro-Bowl well. Trent got hosed on that holding penalty this past week, it was actually a pancake... but he's performed well and shown a lot of heart. Monty needs to get back to snapping his shotgun snap with some pop, but he's played well also.
Yeen80
As long as he can remain healthy he can be one of the greatest linemen to wear the burgundy and gold
SkinsTillIDie
Would love to see us run more screens and utilize his elite ability to get out in space. Many here, including I, wanted Okung with that pick. Increasingly looking foolish with time
Hitman21ST
A good successor to Chris Samuels. 28th best player in the league, 3rd best LT. Skins are rising...
Going Commando
Wouldn't be surprised if Trent is asked to do far more than any other tackle in the league. He needs to be the straw that stirs the drink for our run game and he is always left on an island against the best rushers in the league. Who else is asked to deal with Ware, the Eagles gang, and the Giants gang (they get to stay fresh too), without help--and wins for the most part? Bacon
Well deserved. He takes on the best talent of each D line we face and gets the job done.
PapaLazarou
Watch out. He might request a trade to the Broncos or Seahawks...:pfft: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/11/07/when-it-comes-to-legalized-marijuana-substance-abuse-policy-isnt-as-clear-as-nfl-thinks/
wilco_holland
How about this QB driven league? 1. DE 2. WR 3. DE 4. OLB 5. QB 6. CB 7. RB 8. QB 9. WR 10. DT
KingGibbs
The one play that sticks to my mind is the play against the Giants on the 4th down that was converted to Paulsen. Griffin was scrambling and Tuck was pursuing him, but Williams continued playing and went over and knocked Tuck to the ground. Like to see that kind of hustle. It's not easy being an OL'man for a QB like Griffin because you don't know where he is going to be half the time.
S.T.real,lights,out
He is having an awesome season and he's doing it against guys like JPP, Allen and Harrison. Very proud of him. Hopefully he keeps it up.
The Robert Griffin Experience
>tfw we could have had watt >tfw we ALMOST pried Yanda away from the Ravens >tfw we could have had Calais Campbell Also I hope Hankerson becomes our Roddy White. pjfootballer
Would love to see us run more screens and utilize his elite ability to get out in space. Many here, including I, wanted Okung with that pick. Increasingly looking foolish with time The preseason game against Buffalo comes to mind. When that draft came up, I was enamoured with Okung myself. But as I studied what type of linemen Shanahan wanted, I knew this was the guy he was looking at. Of course in hindsight, he looks better than Okung now and I'm glad of it.
Skins199021
I love PFF they look at every play so I usually take what they say as pretty good knowledge. Potential FA targets on the list.... Jairus Byrd and Sebastion Vollmer I wonder how our team would be if we signed just those 2 guys alone??
Boss_Hogg
Another feather in Mike Shanahan's hat... I remember when some on this board preferred Russell Okung over Trent in the 2010 draft. Okung can barely get on the field.

I literally sat there and said "Not trent Williams, Not Trent Williams" as the commissioner walked to the podium. Egg meet face. He's been fantastic. MoeRedskins
I haven't really noticed it, I guess I haven't heard much from him or anything happening on his side so that is a positive sign of him having done well. I do just watch Polumbus the whole time though, and he gets blown up, or at least he did vs. the Panthers this past week.
gaskinsfan
He's easily one of the best LT in the game today, and for sure a personnel decision that Shanny has gotten right.
DogofWar1
Williams has definitely been a monster at LT, and should continue as such for many years. He probably has a lot of pro-bowls and All-pro selections ahead of him.

I literally sat there and said "Not trent Williams, Not Trent Williams" as the commissioner walked to the podium. Egg meet face. He's been fantastic. I thought Trent Williams wasn't a first ROUND prospect. That's how bad I thought we blew the pick.
CrypticVillain
It's not only Trent Williams play this seasons that has me hyped, it is his attitude. Anybody on the opposing team's defense come at anybody on our team with some nonsense, especially RG3, Trent Williams is over there to let his presence be known. I love that type of attitude. USS Redskins
Even a broken Clock is correct twice a day. I mean even Vinny got it right with Orakpo. But good for Trent - he is playing well.
