The head bashing scene from Irreversible is the worst thing I have ever seen on film. I saw the clip out of context, and at first I believed it was possibly real, which made it more the disturbing.

I would argue that the rape scene from that same movie might even be worse.

I have never seen the whole thing, partially due to the rape scene. It simply seems like a pointlessly vicious movie, and I don't need to lose any more of my soul.

American History X was the first thing that came to mind.

Divine eating (real) fresh dog poop in Pink Flamingos

In a less obvious way, I think the scene in A Clockwork Orange when Alex is beating up the writer while singing Singin' In The Rain. You can never hear that song the same way ever again. Kubrick so effectively took what was a classic, lighthearted tune of Americana and gave it a permanent violent association (in a way, putting an unwitting audience into Alex's shoes for the rest of their lives), I think that has to be considered "disturbing" in its own way.

The rape scene in the Hills have eyes bothered me a lot, more than other rape scenes. I know a guy that got to that part of the movie, bulled out the dvd and threw it in the trash.

The scene in Ken Park where the guy's dad starts to molest him in his sleep...

I watch a lot of gore/horror movies but for some reason those are the only two that come to mind right now.

Goodfella's when Joe Pesci is stabbing the guy in the trunk.

That reminds me, the scene in Casino where they beat Joe Pesci and his brother half to death and then bury them alive.

There's a scene in the movie I stand Alone (Seul contre tous), which is made same director of Irreversible, that I found harder to watch than the beating/rape scene in Irreversible. Its of a man who assaults and punches his pregnant wife in her stomach over and over again (to the point she has miscarriage). It's not as long as that extremely disturbing rape scene or as gory fire extinguisher but I felt more shocked by the beating. I guess not the best promotion for the movies but both are still very good and worth a watch despite some very uneasy moments.

After careful deliberation:

The scene in Devils Advocate when Reeves is walking down a completely empty street in NYC with creepy background music.

Cabin Fever, the bathtub scene, but furthermore, that whole ****ing movie.

Event Horizon, when Sam Neil says something along the lines of " This ship has seen so many sights, and she's gone further than you can imagine" ( in reference to the ship taking a detour through Hell itself). His delivery was creepy as hell.

Audition

The entire movie varies between humorous/creepy and outright disturbing, but the last 10 minutes are damn near unwatchable.

Salo:

Has to be seen to be believed lol...jeebus.

Singapore Sling:

The abso-****ing-lutely most "WTF" movie in existence, and disturbing throughout. And yet, it's almost a comedy at times lol :ols:...very, very weird.

Funny Games (the original):

Sociopaths take you along for the ride and show you what it's like to not have a conscience and be devoid of empathy. And the movie shows the viewer zero mercy.
