President Obama's children's book, Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters, hit shelves this week to a bit of unexpected controversy. At first glance, the 31-page book—which features short profiles and illustrations of American heroes like George Washington and Jackie Robinson—doesn't seem like it could stir up much debate.

But Obama's decision to include Native American leader Sitting Bull didn't go over well with the headline writers at a Fox News website. Their initial take: "Obama Praises Indian Chief Who Killed U.S. General." (At the time of this writing, the headline has been changed to read: Obama Praises Indian Chief Who Defeated U.S. General.

Several bloggers and Fox critics quickly jumped on the site's overheated reaction to the children's book.

The FOX spin machine at it's best.... :ols:

So how long ago did Fox News become a caricature of itself? I mean back in the day it was right leaning but pretty reliable/balanced, then came then point where they shifted a little more and people began to mock them, but at what point did they just say "screw it! we're going full retard!" and give up any attempt at neutrality?

When they discovered that the further into "full retard" they went, the more their audience loved it.

Obama should be doing more important things than being involved, at any level at all, in the writing of a children's book. He's the president of the United States.

EDIT: They should be devoting all resources to fixing our debt. Kids have enough history books already. This one isn't going to be any better.

If it makes you feel any better, he wrote the book before he was President of the United States:
Obama wrote the heartfelt letter to his daughters between the 2008 election and his 2009 inauguration, with publication awaiting award-winning artist Loren Long's illustrations.

Well . . . when the Chairman of Fox News straight up calls the President a socialist, this is something to be expected.

In an interview, Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes told The Daily Beast's Howard Kurtz that he thinks President Obama has rankled international allies because his "socialism" was "too far left" for them.

An awesome part about that story is that the Chairman attacked Obama as a socialist and defended Bush in arguing that Fox News is fair and balanced. Oh the hilarity.

He also said that Obama has had 3,000 press secretaries since he got into office. Too bad, for the Chairman, that Obama has just had 1 press secretary. LOL. I now understand why Fox News gets so many facts wrong, the guy at the top can't get his **** straight.

This Just In...... Obama just took a dump and the toilet was not a water saver. The Toilet Paper was not RECYCLED!!! He runs the water while brushing his teeth, and how could he stand to be driven around in that gas guzzling limo. Get a Hybrid POTUS.

Speaking of Bull, Fox News chief Roger Ailes claimed in a recent (unrelated) interview that his network doesn't take unfair shots at the Obama administration. :rotflmao:

And CNN/MSNBC/ABC/CBS/INSERT ANYONE ELSE claimed they had no bias

What a stupid as **** headline.

Then again, I was watching CNN this AM and heard a guy basically call the newspaper industry racist because they keep talking about Vick and his jail time and how that never comes up in the "barbershop"

Just another reason why I hate the 24/7 news system we have all grown accustomed to

I think that's a logical complaint. You'd be all over Bush for the same thing. It was pointed out that he wrote it in between his election and inauguration. I said that's fine. I didn't know that.

I agree.

I would prefer any ellected official not be writing an books until after they finish their respective term(s), unless they are able to fix all of our countries issues and get our debt under control.

Then again, I was just told I am a horrible person because I was having a discussion with a guy at the airport on how I want to see us take care of domestic issues and leave foreign issues alone for a bit, at least until we take care of some of the problems we have at home. Thats a topic for another thread (and another day)
