Hersh
Plenty of athletes have fallen from grace. I won't say his is the worst. Ali had a pretty bad fall. How many of those athletes had prime years left in their career? A natural decline is one thing, but this guy has fallen off a cliff.
skinsmarydu
Agree, Hersh. I've been around for a while now, sports fan for my whole life. Haven't seen anything like this. I've watched a couple thousand pitchers realize that their "stuff" ain't fooling anyone anymore. Saw Brett Favre lay down to let Strahan get the sacks title. (humph) I've never seen a player on any field keep trudging on even though they suck. ~OK, McNugget comes to mind, but other than that...I got nothin'. DM72
Update: Speith is one shot off the lead. Why hasn't this young man got the fanfare Tiger or Rory has gotten?
skinfan2k
Update: Speith is one shot off the lead. Why hasn't this young man got the fanfare Tiger or Rory has gotten? He has. We are seeing every shot of his. Plus he has 0 personality. Rory and Tiger have personality and swagger
Morrison J
Under Armour seem to have a knack of spotting young talent early on. Signed up Spieth a long time ago and now Paul Dunne is having the tournament of his life at the age of 22.
Momma There Goes That Man
Yeah Spieth is an amazing player and has received great coverage but he has no charisma.
BatteredFanSyndrome
We see every shot Spieth takes. If he continues on the pace he's on, the coverage will be just like Rory and Tiger get.
Momma There Goes That Man
Spieth double bogeyed and dropped 3 shots off the lead then comes back and quickly birdies back to back holes to get back to 1off the lead. And haha at Sergio popping up at -14 one shot off the lead, like he has a chance. That's cute how he tries
tshile
Yeah Spieth is an amazing player and has received great coverage but he has no charisma. He has plenty of charisma. He's just modest and not egotistical/flamboyant/arrogant and showoffy (at least not yet, and if he is he does a good job hiding it.) Some people appreciate being humble/modest. I didn't say anything about not appreciating it, but he's not a character like some others and for that, he seems boring. That's all. He will be fine though. DM72
They were talking about Spieth this morning on First Take. Pretty much what I said. Dude does not get nearly the hype he should be getting for doing what he's doing.

Morrison J
Spieth to win it on the 18th. Edit: maybe not.
Momma There Goes That Man
This is where he normally would have been anyway barring that excellent birdie on 16. Let's see what he's got. Day and Oos still in it too
Momma There Goes That Man
Spieth looked rattled on that approach. It's tough to come from behind and win on the final few holes. Let's see if he can make some magic
Momma There Goes That Man
So close for Spieth Feels like Day is always in the running but never seals the deal.
Morrison J
Great effort on the putt from Spieth. Not to be though. Would love to see Oosthuizen get a birdie here.

Dude does not get nearly the hype he should be getting for doing what he's doing. Yeah, he doesn't have the flare others have. When they interviewed everyone coming off after suspending play they were all like 'omg they are ruining the game' (and they were right...) and speith was like eh whatever i just like playing golf. He's getting knocked for it right now, but one day i'm hoping more people will appreciate the mild mannered, humble athlete that just keeps winning... i know i do. btw him not acting like that makes it harder to tear him down when/if he falls off. the media loves to build people up so they can tear them down later, he's not going along with their little game. Stadium-Armory
I root for Johnson because he isn't a long hitter, but get's the job done. When he won the Masters in 2007, he laid up on all of the par 5s in the final round.

Sacks 'n' Stuff
I thought of another big time fall from grace. Roy Jones Jr. He was the pound for pound best fighter in the world and then suddenly just started getting knocked out in every fight... Early.
