SUSkinsFan
b/c it does not resonate a strong response from the audience, and it's weird for anyone who isn't a part of that religion. I understand they are very religious, but it is a little different hearing something like that when you don't necessarily follow that religion. either way, glad to see 81 and 28 in the HOF, where they belong why should inductees have to tailor their speeches for the crowd? SlinginSammy HOF '63
b/c it does not resonate a strong response from the audience, and it's weird for anyone who isn't a part of that religion. I understand they are very religious, but it is a little different hearing something like that when you don't necessarily follow that religion. It's who they are. They are Christians and fathers before they are Redskins

HAILSKINSNYC
I thought Monk's speech was awesome, but I'm surprised he didn't mention Gibbs....green barely mentioned Gibbs. Both speeches were great, but a bit too much God talk.
Larry Brown #43
why should inductees have to tailor their speeches for the crowd? Yep. They pretty much earned the right to talk about whatever they want.

Being religous for some people is what they need. In today's time things have changed alot. Not everyone is a born again christian. I to have enjoyed this day. 88Comrade2000
The ESPN guys made a comment saying with no disrespect for Darrell that the Skins fans were there more for Art than Darrell? I disagree and say the fans were there for both. Art got the recording Stand O because of waiting for 8 years.

Sarge
You guys done good. Three minute standing O for Art. The announcers said they've never seen that Lord knows he deserves it after all this time
StillUnknown
a damn near 5min standing ovation the hall finally recognized the greatness we all saw from day one in Art Monk
rincewind
GREAT speech by Art... even if it was a little preachy. Major Harris is correct - they're allowed to thank whoever they want, its their day. I'm about non-religious as they come and even I think Art's speech was amazing. Oldskool
Take heed those of you under the age of 30 or so. There are men and then there are men like Fred Dean, Darrell Green, Art Monk, and Emmitt Thomas. Rightfully not a dry eye in the house when these men spoke. Burgold
Both, but because of the wait... Today, was Art's day more than any other and the passion and energy was just higher for Art. We all love Darrell too, but there had been so much pent up frustration for Art... that this was an outpouring of love and relief.

scruffylookin
I think there were more fans there representing the Skins tonight than there were for Gibbs in 96. Way to to go folks. I preferred Monk's speech to Green's. No offense Darrell but you were dragging there for a while. But Art, no love for my boy Gary Clark? Shame Shame Shame. I think that 5 min standing O is the take away moment from this year's ceremony.
