Mr. Sinister Posted July 15 Jesus H. Always said if I had a son, thats what I would name him, wanting him to go through life the way that man boxed.  I don't believe it
ksun247 Posted July 15 One of the best to ever do it! R.I.P. Champ!!!
stevemcqueen1 Posted July 15 Oh no. Damn that is terrible news. RIP Sweet Pea.  The roads in this area are death traps. This is a sad day. We lost Norfolk's greatest athlete and champion.
The Evil Genius Posted July 15 Heartbreaking. I used to sell him (and his posse) Polo merch at Lynnhaven Mall back in the day (think 1992-1993). He was always extra nice to the employees and always dropped at least 10-15 bills each trip.  Probably the greatest defensive and untouchable fighter of my generation.
TryTheBeal! Posted July 15 RIP Sweet Pea. Â You were literally untouchable in your prime.
StillUnknown Posted July 16 (edited)  far as i'm concerned, only 2 of his 4 losses are legit  my man was making DLH look foolish, despite being on cocaine around those times.  defense is so underappreciated in boxing. its the truest essence of the sport, hit and don't get hit     3:03 mark: Even well past his prime against a young Tito Trinidad, his reflexes and defensive instincts were amazing to watch Edited July 16 by StillUnknown 1
Mr. Sinister Posted July 17 Any word on how it happened? Was it a drunk driver?

No signs of alcohol, drugs, or speed apparently. Driver was cooperative and not arrested
stevemcqueen1 Posted July 17 Hampton Roads traffic is reminiscent of traffic in the developing world. Collisions happen constantly, and collisions with pedestrians happen with some frequency here. It's certainly possible that the accident was caused by Whitaker. Pedestrians walk out into the middle of heavily trafficked roads in front of green lights and in the middle of open stretches of fast moving vehicle traffic all of the time. Kosher Ham Posted July 17 Well that is a ****ty way to start my day. Sweet Pea was a bad man. Damn.

Mr. Sinister Posted July 17 23 minutes ago, NoCalMike said: Pac v. Thurman predictions anyone? Â I got One Time by UD. I don't Pac will get knocked out, but I think it will be a tough night for him. I think his experience will keep him from hitting the canvas though. Â
StillUnknown Posted July 17 I wasnt impressed with thurman's last fight, with the caveat that he was knocking off some rust. I'm still picking him, but it wouldnt shock me Pac beat him
ksun247 Posted July 17 Run-Time by TKO in 10 or 11. Manny will run into a big punch that hurts him badly. Then Thurman will swarm him.

He made the state tournament one or two years at maybe 189. I can't remember cause it was a good 11-12 years ago, but I wrestled him a bunch of times.
ksun247 Posted July 20 Really wanted to see Lipinets vs Molina Jr. Molina pulled out with back injury. There is a late minute sub for Molina. Ugas vs Figueroa is gonna be good. And so will Lee vs Plant. Good overall card top to bottom.  Lipinets by KO Ugas by UD Plant by KO Thurman by KO
StillUnknown Posted July 20 (edited) top rank card on espn+ took a bit of a dark turn. Maxim Dadashev in the co-main took a beating before Buddy McGirt correctly stopped the fight, despite his fighter saying he wanted to continue. He couldn't walk on his own out of the ring and lost consciousness on the way to the hospital  last update did not sound good at all. waiting to get in contact with his wife in russia so they can start surgery to relieve pressure on his brain Edited July 20 by StillUnknown
