Sin telling the kid to swallow it.

Here I was thinking just tell the prof that you have flexible ankles.

Just wrong Sin, simply wrong.

Shady had 1300+ yards last season.

Wasn't he in the top 5 for yardage  ? Perhaps I am wrong. Good trade in my mind.

I mean don't get me wrong.... very good to great RB's are few and far between these days, but i think its the colleges fault more than anyone else, beacuse now all these guys want to play at 190 in these air raid offenses, and can't pass protect worth a damn, which means you're at best someone like Percy Harvin

But you still get these 3 down monsters from time to time. You don't throw those guys off a cliff that easily.

I'd invite any of the RB naysayers to run a game of Madden with me. Let me go ahead and show you how "obsolete" the running game is. See how much it "doesn't matter anymore" when your offense can't see the field and your defense is trying not to fall over defending 16 play drives.

It's more the Shady McCoy stuff now. Before it was in regards to Adrian Peterson, and Alfred Morris to a lesser extent.  It's amazing to me that people seem to want to figuratively put a bullet in the head of two of the greatest RB's in the last 15 years, for no other reason than "They're just running backs".

**** like that will cause me to go out of character, which is rare. Thats one of my irrationality triggers, so my response would be totally not rational.

Jim Brown wasn't "Just a running back"

Barry Sanders wasn't "Just a running back"

Walter Payton wasn't "Just a running back"

OJ Simpson's crazy ass wasn't "Just a running back"

Gale Sayers, Thurman Thomas, Emmit Smith, Roger Craig, Terrell Davis,  Earl Campbell, LaDainian Tomlinson, Eric Dickerson. None of them were "Just running backs." They were the heart and soul of their teams, and it really does (I'm seriously not joking) piss me off that people these days just **** all over it.

You can find running backs, sure, but you absolutely cannot just pluck a Shady, AP, or Beast Mode out of a tree. I can't stand the way this league is going.

i think that what most people have come to realize, is that the difference between the 5th best RB in the league, and the 35th best running back in the league isn't as great as the difference between the 5th best CB in teh leauge and the 35th best... (for instance)

RB is an imporant position... but yo umight not need/want to break the bank and get a really good (but not great) one, and ... there are very few really great ones.. AND... those guys tend to wear down quicker than other positions

I'll give you 10th. Definitely not fifth. A top 5 RB usually has good to great speed, excellent vision, viable receiving ability, tackle breaking ability, and can pass protect. Or they are dynamic in 1-2 categories.

The 35th RB would be a specialist. Maybe they are a perimeter guy, or a short yardage guy, or a guy that can catch out of the backfield. Or they are a Kevin Faulk type who can do everything okay. Top 5 backs are special. There is nothing special about situational RB's

McCoy is 7th season (i think the paper said..right?)

how soon until he falls off the cliff?

i think the Eagles are smart, trading out from under a player who is at their peak ...but whose salary will be peaking just as effectiveness wanes.   (and that is without even getting another player back).

I'll take a gamble on a young cheap RB (or 3) over a late 20s expensive RB almost every time.

I would crush you......Though I run the ball excessively.

Well guys...I mean...it's obviously all coming into place now. The Bills are obviously getting poised for their SB run. Signing Matt Cassel and all.

Most likely. But your last statement only proves my point really.

Its easy in Madden to defend people who simply refuse to run. Very easy. That was how i won most of my games online. Many of the ones i lost it was because i simply could not stop the opposition from running the ball down my throat, no matter what alignement i used.

And i was very good on offense, but i never had enough time to catch up

Portis was great for the skins... but i for one REALLY wish we had champ bailey here over that last decade, instead. (how many really good seasons did we get out of Portis?) ....  AND we traded away a pick as well

if there is demand out there for AlMo... i'd trade him in a heartbeat for a good return  (and i LOVE the guy)

Most of the time folks who play like that are the same type that go for every 4th, blitz on every down and/or ignore package and coverage, and run the same three offensive plays the entire game. Then once you've figured that out and shut it down, you start getting an inbox full of homophobic slurs and mom jokes.

I love the free Ws. But I hate having to run a full game with those fools.

The problem was we had no quarterback except for Brunell finding the Lazarus Pit in '05. The deal was great for both sides. The problem is the difference in organizational structure. Champ was a perfect fit, whereas Portis was a really good square peg in a round hole. He had to put on weight, and his speed went from elite to very good because of it.

And as the years went on, our o-line got worse and worse, and we still had no QB. When we had serviceable to good QB play, he was sleepwalking into 100 yd games. That trade has more to do with Vinny Cerrato, Snyder, and Joe Gibbs talent evaluation. In Shanahan's ZBS, he would have been legendary. And Champ was through here. If we didn't trade him then, he would've left another way. He was not coming back

I take selfies all the time, never post them to facebook though. They're just sitting in my phone. I'm a selfie creeper.

And you have the nerve to rail on subwoofer bros.

The shame....

I beat a kid the other night running the same defensive play over and over.  46 Bear - Cover 3 Drop.  He kept running the same few pass plays and I ate him up.  It was quite funny, cause he thought I would be blitzing and didn't realize it was zone coverage.  I picked him off at least 5 times before he quit and raged at me via messages.

I'll also run the same 4-5 plays in rotation on offense if someone can't stop it.  Most of the idiots online are so predictable anyhow.  They want to throw 70 yard TD bombs or have 2-3 plays (as you mentioned) and go strictly hurry up, all game, every down.  I let them, audible out of packages, until I find one that can slow them or stop them.  Then I spam it.

If you receive the ball in the second half, all you have to do is stop those idiots once in the first half and its usually over for them, if they don't quit before the game is over.  Those clowns, I'll switch on "burn clock", pick a running play and snap on 1 second left on the play clock.  Repeat.  I've used an entire quarter and a min or two of one on a drive before, drives the little ****s crazy lol.
