I learned to drive stick in an ole ford 150, I think it was a 1989. Loved that truck.

your parents are good people.  though they're not as common these days, a stick shift is no problem for any real man.

What you got against fords?

When I was younger, they always used to bring down on us. That's when my uncle told me about the "Fix Or Repair Daily" joke. I liked that one better than "Found On Roadside Dead".

I busted that trend in 2008 when I got my Grand Marquis. Liked the way that drove so I decided to get the Crown Vic.

But still, I love Chevy. When I graduate, I am treating myself to a Silverado (or Tahoe) for a graduation present.

'99 Civic here. First car I learned to drive was a stick.

Gives you the feeling that you are more in control of the vehicle. Better fuel economy. More options when buying a car (sticks basically sit on the lot). Better mileage.  You just listen to it call out to you when its time to shift gears.... It's a beautiful thing.

Pain in the ass though when you're sitting in DC traffic, or any traffic for that matter. Your foot will feel like death.

Lol I don't know what it is about DC dudes and Crown Vics, lol. They keep them clean though. Very clean. I actually rented one to go to Topsail in NC one time. It was funny trolling people on the road who thought I was a police officer lol

You know I'm a big dude and whatnot. I like them for the space. I hate cars that have that stupid center console. The Vics, Impalas, etc. Don't have those. And I'm appreciative of that.

Here's mine.

I am naming all my cars after Marvel characters lol...

me either, but I wanted one LOL.  i grew up watching older dudes drive crown vics and caprices.  a plus if it was a police package with black trim and a spotlight.

i was stationed in NC in like 2004, and i'd take the rims off my vic (pictured above with big obnoxious wheels), and I'd do 90 on I'95 from DC to North Carolina.  the cops hiding in those cuts down near the VA/NC border used to wave to me as I flew by.  and looking through people's rear view mirrors was a trip.  you could see them check the rear view, then check the side view.  uh oh, a white crown vic.  they'd look over, put on their blinker, and get over.  i'd smash the gas, fly past them with my flowmaster exhaust pipes growling.  they'd realize i wans't a cop, and give the "look at this ****ing asshole" face.  comedy.

ha, you'r right.  Pope AFB actually, which was located inside Ft. Bragg.  Bragg was enormous (the biggest military installation on the planet if I'm not mistaken), but outside of those gates, Fayetteville was a cow town.  Wasn't much to do around there besides drink and sleep LOL

Here's mine.

yummy.  ;)

man, i remember taking my military friend from Ohio back to DC with me one weekend.  We hit the blackhole on Georgia ave to see Backyard Band in like 2002.  we parked and got out, there was nothing but crown vics and caprices lined up and down the street.  he was like "wtf is with all the cop cars?  is this a police station?"  And in my most arrogant tone ever, I was like "nah cuz, this is D.C.  that's how we do it around here"  B)  B)  B) B)  B)  B)

Anyone know how to read in a data file on matlab?

Nope. Did you ask Google?

Yeah, and then you feel like a complete dumbass

Don't worry, I still am the recipient when it's another car.

I got it all way down to the lights. I can probably tell about a mile away if a car is a police type car (Impala, Interceptor, Charger, Tahoe, etc, and the new Ford Escorts they have been riding in the last year.) If I see the lights, I know what car it is. And I'm slowing down. Haven't got pulled over for speeding in years.

I wish I can say the same about the cameras. I got 1 last May, and another this Easter. smh...

Remembering a scene from The Rockford Files.

Rockford has managed to get everybody pissed off. He's in his car, with the client.

Client: I think we're being followed.

Rockford: is it the Mob or the Feds?

Client: how the heck can I tell?

Rockford: are they driving a grey Chevy?

Client: Nope. A blue Ford.

Rockford: it's the Mob.

There then follows one if the chase scenes that tv shows like so much.

Rockford loses the chase, and a bunch of guys jump out of the cars, yelling "FBI!"

Rockford: when did you guys start driving blue Fords?

Fed: When the mob started driving grey Chevys.

Google being a tease, asked a classmate, it doesn't work for me, but it might be my machine...

When I am speeding on the freeway, I automatically slow down if a car is getting close to me just incase it is a cop. Last monday, around 5 am, I was probably going 23 over the speed limit, I see a car closing the gap fast, slow down to about 7 above the speed limit. I have no idea if it is a cop, because I am tired, I had been driving since 3 am. Tailgates me for about 10 seconds, then accelerates and passes me by. Turns out it was a cop. I was so happy.

I got spider bit the other night, but wasn't sure until I got home and shook my pillow and a huge brown spider fell out. After some research, I'm thinking its a huntsman. Bigger than my hand.

*Shivers*

I hate spiders. Keep us posted though if you find out you can shoot webs, or cling to walls
