The Americans on FX

It was pretty good. Will be good how to see it comes along with Phillip as he seems to be torn abit. It had to be hard for the real spies to have a family here and watch thier kids grow up as full blooded American's and to see the huge difference of living between the USA and the USSR. The last sceen was pretty great!

I liked most of it---I like the era chosen, the basic premise, and the myriad plot opportunities (Cold War, spying, time/era culture in USA, family, political, personal). Though having the FBI guy (and a counter-intelligence specialist no less) move in next door was INSANELY lame and almost a total deal killer (unless they tell us later that the couple was already under suspicion).

I think it goes with the premise. It's called Americans, it's about Russian spies blending into American society and communities. It'll also create additional tension and drama. The fact that the FBI Agent responsible for finding these spies has some living right under his nose should make for some interesting storylines...

I thought it was cheesy at first for the FBI guy to move in across the street until the last scene lol. I personally think people were already on to them and the FBI move there isnt a coincidence.

I thought that too, but then I realized on our street of 20 homes

  • Neighbor on left is with NSA
  • NeIghbor on right has son in FBI
  • Neighbor down the street is a Federal prosecutor
  • Another neighbor down the street does something that he's not willing to talk about at block parties.
  • Another neighbor works for CIA (husband and wife)
  • Another neighbor works at Pentagon (husband and wife)
  • And I have a good friend who is an FBI investigator

.

I'm clearly a major threat to national security.

And I don't know what the other half of my neighbors do. :ols:

The DC suburbs are a special place.
