None of these "press conferences" are ever that. These networks should stop showing him live and if/when he lied again by using them to broadcast a mini rally ramble, just not show it. "again the former president announced a press conference and again he ranted and lied about x without taking any questions. Back to our regularly scheduled segment."

The right is crying about Biden's reactions and calling Trump a convicted felon.  Once again, they were just telling us it was better for him to be a convicted felon.  The amount of bull**** and twisting.  One Twitter pundit was comparing DJT to the signers of the Declaration of Independence -- "they all became felons when they signed that document".  Double and triple down on your bull****.

And not one voter's mind was swayed.

The thing about doubling down, i that they have been doubling down on absolute bull**** for what, 20 years now?
It is reaching a peak, getting to the point where they can't double without action.

You can't just claim the government has been weaponized to destroy you and your way of life without expecting a response from your audience, not after this. This has forced them out of the vague ambiguity they could use to spread fear and anger. Now their Lord is the victim. A turning point. Put up or shut up, and these people's entire world view is one of denial and ignorant spite.
Shutting up is something they don't understand.

The bubble has to burst sometime.

Donald Trump is a licensed gun owner — here’s what will happen to his firearms after his felony conviction

Licensed gun owner Donald Trump will have to turn over all of his firearms in the coming weeks now that he has been found guilty of felonies in the Manhattan “hush money” case.

Under New York state and federal law, convicted felons are banned from possessing any type of firearm, and the former president must have his weapons legally passed off to another person or surrendered to authorities by his July 11 sentencing, criminal defense attorney Peter Tilem said.

“There is no grace period,” Tilem told The Post. “You are federally prohibited once you are convicted.”

I'm guessing he does nothing and claims he gave them to one of his sons, and nobody will bother to check or confirm that he's actually done so.

Special counsel again asks for modified release conditions for Trump in classified documents case

Special counsel Jack Smith on Friday asked the judge overseeing former President Donald Trump’s classified documents case in Florida to bar him from making statements that endanger law enforcement.

The filing marks the second motion from Smith in days urging U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon to modify Trump’s conditions of release in the case. And like the motion before, Friday’s motion was based on Trump’s false claims about FBI agents being prepared to kill him during the 2022 Mar-a-Lago search for classified documents.

“Trump’s repeated mischaracterization of these facts in widely distributed messages as an attempt to kill him, his family, and Secret Service agents has endangered law enforcement officers involved in the investigation and prosecution of this case and threatened the integrity of these proceedings,” Smith said in the filing.

The policy prohibits deadly force except for “when the officer has a reasonable belief that the subject of such force poses an imminent danger of death or serious physical injury to the officer or to another person,” Friday’s motion explained.

“Trump, however, has grossly distorted these standard practices by mischaracterizing them as a plan to kill him, his family, and U.S. Secret Service agents,” Smith said in the motion. “Those deceptive and inflammatory assertions irresponsibly put a target on the backs of the FBI agents involved in this case, as Trump well knows.”

Smith’s previous motion on the issue was denied on Tuesday because Cannon argued that the special counsel’s efforts to discuss the issue with Trump’s defense team were “wholly lacking in substance and professional courtesy.” Trump’s lawyers had argued that by not consulting the defense before filing the motion, prosecutors violated procedure.

Friday’s motion, however, included a certificate confirming that prosecutors conferred with defense about the motion via a phone call on Wednesday, as well as emails on Thursday and Friday.

Trump’s lawyers requested that the certificate include their statement, in which they confirm that Trump “opposes the motion.”

Nah, because then his sons would have to have to prove they have the guns, or explain what they did with the guns, which government official they turned them over to, where's the record of them doing so, etc, etc...

More than likely the result would end up being another photo of his bathroom:

The ongoing GOP campaign strategy has been: lie. Just...lie. Lie about everything. Don't simply spin, just flat-out lie. Keep lying, be consistent at it. Never admit to anything factual that doesn't help the party. Deny facts without hesitation. Ignore questions from the press by repeating the lies again. Voters don't care one way or another if we're lying. Tucker Carlson was right to demand that the reporter who told the truth on election night be fired...he knew their viewers don't give a single **** about facts, they don't tune in to hear facts. And our voters don't turn up at the voting booth due to facts they've been told. They turn up at voting booths due to having their biases confirmed. So lie...lie like the vile mf'er you know you are, and confirm those asinine biases all day, every day. Never admit anything, just lie. If we can do that, we can win in November.

People who hated Trump will still hate him. People who supported him will not stop supporting him over this.

As far as the undecided?  Ultimately if someone looks at what he was convicted of vs what we already know about him, the scumbag needle won't really move that much. Think about it, we already know he cheated on his wife and paid off a hooker to keep quiet. Implicite in this was that he tried to fool voters so what new thing did we learn about the situation? That prosecutors could bag him because he did not properly mark hooker hush money?

To be fair there will be people who just see the word convicted or felon and make their decision based on that, but I'd guess those types were already leaning toward Biden.

Voting rights in Florida are routinely removed, without notifying the voter, if the voter has a name which is similar to the name of somebody who's on a list that somebody bought.

"Undecideds" don't need the scumbag needle to move...they just need to realize Trump is more dishonest and corrupt than they were admitting and that it's not all one big political witch hunt. Reaching that conclusion doesn't automatically equate to thinking he's a scumbag. Being found guilty on 34 felony counts does move the Dishonest And Corrupt needle more towards the red, though. So does the realization that he is now literally a convicted felon.

Same with Biden...undecideds don't need to think he's the epitome of virility, they just need to realize he's not the doddering old grandpa whose memory is flushed down the toilet that became conventional political wisdom.

Yes, but I think its more naivety than anything else, you'd be surprised how little the average citizen knows what is going on in the country.

I've seen a lot of car accidents (just get lucky that way), I usually come across three types of people: People who leap into action, people who freeze up and my least favorite: the people that just stand there and freak out. They have nothing to do with the accident, they don't need help, but their "freaking out" takes precedent and no one else can focus on the real task because they have to deal with this idiot freaking out (there is always one).

Thats how I see undecideds, they stumble across an accident (election), instead of doing research to help or just staying quiet and observe, they have to scream like morons and we have to deal with them. Their minds are made up, they're just morons.
