China
'I regret going': Protester says he spent life savings to support Freedom Convoy A protester who joined the so-called Freedom Convoy, which occupied downtown Ottawa for much of February, says he regrets taking part after he lost $13,000 and his home protesting something he never really "had a stance on." "I regret going,'' said Martin Joseph Anglehart, who spoke to CBC via Zoom from Hope, B.C. Anglehart said he has "nothing left" after spending his life savings on gas and food for the occupiers, who disrupted Ottawa's downtown core for more than three weeks. "I started delivering fuel and picking up laundry. Everything for the truckers." From Jan. 28 to Feb. 14, bank statements provided to CBC show Anglehart transferred thousands of dollars and spent thousands more at a gas station near Coventry Road — where he was stationed for the majority of the protest. Anglehart is currently living out of his SUV, as he said his landlord kicked him out over his "point of view" concerning the protest. Ball Security
How the **** does that happen? “Anglehart admits he never had "a stance on mandates" but felt drawn to the movement after he was prevented from visiting a dying friend at a Montreal hospital in June 2020 because of COVID-19 restrictions.” Also, he was kicked out of his place because of his POV? Or was he kicked out because he closed his business, dropped 13K, had his accounts frozen and can’t pay the rent? That point of view. What a dumb ****stick. But I guess I’m just a keyboard warrior who doesn’t work hard. 1

DC Trucker Convoy Falls Apart As Their Leader Runs Away The DC trucker convoy is crumbling as their leader announced that he was leaving but denied running away. The group has no leadership, no goal, and no plan for an actual protest. They are a group of angry Trump supporters hanging out and marinating their resentments. The convoy was stopped on Saturday by a cherry blossom festival. There have been many failed conservative protests over the last few years, but none have had the combination of longevity and pointlessness that has become the hallmark of the “Freedom Convoy.” The truckers should realize that they have the freedom to go home. They have accomplished nothing but peeing themselves, assaulting bikers, and driving in circles. China
People’s Convoy Gives Up, Will Leave D.C. After 3 Weeks of Doing Absolutely Nothing Three weeks after the so-called “People’s Convoy” landed in Washington, D.C., the group is calling it quits after accomplishing nothing except injuring residents and circling the Beltway. Co-organizer Mike Landis announced Sunday night that the group would pack its things up in the coming days and drive back to California. “So what I want to know is, what do you think about heading to California?” Landis asked, to the crowd’s delight. “Sounds like a great plan,” one convoy-goer yelled back. Landis further said that convoy-goers who remain posted up in Hagerstown, Maryland—who have experienced many freezing nights while camped out in the small town an hour and a half north of D.C. proper—will enjoy a southerly route back to California. “We’re gonna take a little more southern route, so it’s a little warmer than this,” he said. He pledged to “come back to finish this job” in the metro area at some unspecified time, which seems highly unlikely as their crowd dwindles. China
People's Convoy Celebrates Passing Of Bill They Opposed Because They Don't Understand How Government Works A fundamental misunderstanding of the meaning of a vote in the California legislature left the People’s Convoy celebrating the advancement of a bill they believe would legalize infanticide Tuesday night. The People’s Convoy is in sunny Sacramento for at least three days of blocking traffic, blaring horns and yelling about COVID-19 restrictions, according to the Sacramento Bee. But protesters turned their attention on California’s legislature Tuesday night, as the Assembly Health Committee voted to advance a bill which has been sold by right-wing pundits as legalizing infanticide. When the bill passed out of committee with 11 ayes and 3 nays, the People’s Convoy curiously began celebrating. The YouTube channel Behind The Mirror cut together a few different streams of Tuesday night’s protesters: Click on the link for the full article
China
Inept 'People's Convoy' chased out of Bay Area by egg-throwing kids The dreams of the “People’s Convoy” quickly died in the Bay Area after a critical tactical error: turning onto a street with a Safeway and a group of bored kids. The trucker convoy, which aimed to emulate the disruptive Canadian protests against COVID-19 restrictions, has failed spectacularly at every turn. During a few weeks of driving around Washington, D.C., the convoy was held up by a single bicyclist, and some convoy members said they were having difficulty finding places for bathroom breaks and, as a result, were forced to urinate in their pants. After an anemic showing in Washington, the convoy made the long drive back across the country, landing in the Bay Area this week. Since the convoy began, practically all major COVID restrictions have been lifted in the United States, so it appears it’s switched its messaging to support other conservative causes. On Friday afternoon, the small convoy of semitrucks, pickup trucks, minivans and other cars drove to Democratic Assemblymember Buffy Wicks’ East Bay home to protest her support of an abortion rights bill. As they honked and used bullhorns in the quiet residential neighborhood, neighbors gathered to heckle them right back, yelling at the truckers to get off their street. Livestreams posted by convoy participants show police arriving to protect Wicks’ home, which eventually prompted the group to move on. It was here the convoy members made their mistake, driving onto busy, one-lane College Avenue on the Berkeley-Oakland border. There, slowed down by the usual Friday afternoon traffic, they were sitting ducks outside the Safeway. A large group of kids, armed with eggs purchased at the grocery store, began pelting the convoy. Simmsy
The average person is tired of conservatives, they are worthless and bring nothing to the table. This has nothing to do with protesting (there is nothing to protest), its only and always been about being the dregs of society. Notice how they don't protest and honk their horns in red states or red district or in Texas where the governor is doing more damage to them than anyone else in this country. I'm glad people are standing up to these morons, next time they should throw rocks. 2
PleaseBlitz
The whiniest people in the country. https://dcist.com/story/22/05/02/dc-trucker-convoy-sue-police-blockades/ Quote Sixteen truckers who were part of the recent truck convoy protests in the D.C. region are suing the District for setting up blockades that prevented them from exercising “their constitutionally protected right to free speech” on the streets of D.C. The civil case, filed in the U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia on Monday, says that the plaintiff’s First Amendment rights were violated. It states the truckers were seeking to protest the government’s “continued state of emergency declaration and COVID-19 related policies” and that they also wanted to honor 13 military members who died in Afghanistan during the withdrawal from the country last summer. Plaintiffs are seeking a jury trial. The truckers say they were rebuffed by D.C. Police and Department of Public Work vehicles that blocked exits on I-395 and I-695 on multiple days in mid-March. Police at the time say they closed the exits “to keep traffic moving safely,” according to the Washington Post. Trucks are not allowed on some downtown streets. The plaintiffs asked police to move their vehicles so they could get by, but they say they were threatened with arrest if they didn’t move along. The truckers gathered in Hagerstown, Maryland, but are from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Florida, California, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nevada, according to the filing. They are suing for violation of due process, not granting equal protection, and violation of free speech. They also claim that the blockade is directly responsible for a crash that killed two when a speeding vehicle hit a dump truck on the interstate. The D.C. Attorney’s General Office has not replied to a request for comment. Nobody prevented your speech. You were prevented from driving your big ass trucks wherever the **** you wanted, AND I ****ING SAW YOU DRIVING ALL OVER DC MULTIPLE TIMES WITH POLICE ESCORTS. DC bent over backwards to accommodate these assholes. 1
