Character. That's my impression of why we wouldn't chase Cunningham. I get that the Texans are a mess, but what if he was on our team when we were losing 4 straight. Not a lot of guys who would have towed the line and then dug deep to turn it around. Character matter on this team and in our locker room.

This is probably it. I don't think Cunningham has had issues in the past. I think it's more the frustration with the Easterby BS that has pissed off most of the veterans who are with or have left Houston

We should definitely sign a guy we cut for being a head case, who's available because he's a head case.

That'll happen. :ols:

Sarcasm aside. There are different forms of bad attitudes. Breelands more of a hot head than a POS. Might not be worth the trouble but IMO if we are trying to get into the playoffs some risks have to be taken to improve our team.

I'm not going to post the links but Breeland has been awful this year in both pass coverage and penalties assessed

We are not going to find superstars at this point of the season on waivers but he is a starting DB who shows up in playoff games. He hasnt had a great year but a change of scenery might stoke the fire.

Let's resurrect this thread. Give me your top FA MLB targets. Give me your favorite FA DB targets. How about WR's while we are at it. OL's as well  What other positions should they target in March? Let's do it!

Marcus Williams, Maye or Bates III at FS in that order.

Maybe Mike Williams at WR so we can replace Cam with a large WR that's actually good.

Maybe Reddick or Barr at LBer.

I'd go hella hard after one of those FSs. Trade 23&24 firsts for Carr. Use our 1rst pick on Dean or Lloyd and second pick on a RB. Third pick on Mamu Wyoming LBer and use the rest for Line Depth after bringing the same players possibly minus scherff back.

Big fan of Mike Williams at WR, but he gets hurt alot which makes me nervous.

Any of the safeties is solid.

Haven't looked at backers yet. But we need a Mike.

I really wouldn't go after any of the FA WRs. Probably not LBer either. They just seem like positions that are only cost effective through the draft.

I think Jamin will be a very good LBer, but we need a Mike like we need a QB.

QB, MLB, FS. Attack those 3 positions and I dont care what else happens.

Need a signal caller on both sides of the ball, I’d be happy with Carr for a 1st in 2023, 3rd 2022.

I think CB way more important than FS right now. Need coverage specialists, guys who can play man. Watching Ramsey used in LA is such an advantage on D.

Any WR will do, as long as he’s not a bust. Can’t use draft capital so I’d look very hard in FA pool gor best availabile. Mike Williams probably gonna be $$$

edit: dang… l just looked at this teams top 4 contracts in ‘22. Collins, Jackson, Samuel & Fuller. That’s pretty poor distribution of resources. They need serious help. I get Collins won’t be around at that salary and Samuels was hurt, but wow.

Looking at FA WRs I’d target Chark/JuJu/EQ. St. Brown for cheaper big target options

We have a ton of cap room.  But we need to use a chunk of that money to resign Leno and extend McLaurin.  Next, we need to decide what we are doing with Payne.  Trade him? Extend him? If trade, we should look into spending some money on Settle.  If they keep Payne and decide to trade Sweat, I’d look at a short term vet a DE like Gholston.

I’d keep addressing WR through the draft, especially if Samuels appears to be healthy.

I’d be hesitant to sign a high dollar safety because the scheme may end up changing if we move on from JDR in the future.  You could end up having a square peg/round hole situation like we have with Collins.

I do like the LB Mamu that @Koolblue13 mentioned.  Read about him the other day.
