Texas Real Estate Agent Who Took Private Jet to Capitol Riot Is Arrested

A Texas real estate agent who took a private jet to the Capitol last week and called it “one best days of my life” was charged Friday for participating in the violent insurrection.

Jenna Ryan, a Frisco, Texas real estate broker and life coach, has been charged with knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building without lawful authority and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds after documenting her two-day excursion to D.C. on social media.

She was among yet another handful of rioters rounded up by the feds on Friday, including a former Latin Kings gangster, a Kentucky man who claimed a cop told him “It’s your house now,” and Dominic “Spazzo” Pezzola, a Proud Boys member who allegedly smashed a window to the Capitol with a police shield.

Ryan went on a PR offensive after the riot, telling Spectrum News that she “answered the call of my president” and proudly stormed the Capitol because the election was rigged. “It’s not necessarily about taking over the Capitol, it’s about, ‘We the people own this building,’” she said.

According to a criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, Ryan diligently documented her participation in the mob—starting from her flight on a “small private aircraft” on Jan. 5.

The next day, she posted a bathroom mirror selfie on Facebook with the caption: “We’re gonna go down and storm the capitol. They’re down there right now and that’s why we came and so that’s what we are going to do. So wish me luck.” She added: “This is a prelude going to war.”

In a since-deleted video, she filmed herself going into the Capitol through the Rotunda. She walked past broken windows, up some stairs, and said, “We are going to ****ing go in here. Life or death, it doesn’t matter. Here we go.”

Then, she turned to the camera and added, “Y’all know who to hire for your realtor. Jenna Ryan for your realtor.”

People are trying to survive this madness. Pandemic, economic crisis. In general people work so much and are so distracted they ignore stuff they feel like they have no control over. It’s why this stuff works. It’s crazy. And sad.

Honestly, this is already a giant 'L' in my book. Joe Biden was nowhere near my first choice for President but he's had a long respectable career in policy-making.  He was rightfully elected to bring basic sanity back to our government and he deserves all the pageantry that goes along with a Presidential inauguration, down to the Amtrak train he wanted to take from DE into Union Station.  The right, in all their pearl-clutching about unity and healing, has done nothing to quell these flames, even as they know their cult-like devotion to Trump might end in days. Biden is the loser in all this- he deserved better.

F all of them. I hope the Dems hold their feet to the fire, and I hope a true Conservative party eventually comes of this, so we actually have two (hopefully three) real parties instead of a centrist 'big tent,' and a cult.

Fox News is on a Historic Run at Last Place in Cable News. Here Are the Reasons Why.

Fox News has been in last place in the cable news ratings for eight straight days.

It’s still too early to say if this represents a seismic shift in the cable news landscape, or if it is just a temporary realignment in the wake of a uniquely historic few months. But Fox News ratings are trending down at a clip not seen in literally decades.

Since the early aughts, Fox News has consistently been the most-watched, and arguably the most influential, cable news outlet — by a mile. We have become accustomed to lengthy stretches in which the total combined viewership of CNN and MSNBC was less than the number of people tuning into Fox News.

Fox has been long dismissed by many in the media biz as a network for tinfoil hat-wearing conspiracy theorists. But venture outside NYC, DC and LA, and you’ll often find it to be the default television station at doctors’ offices, country clubs, bars, and restaurants across the country. There is a large audience of moderate viewers who aren’t caught up in cable news wars and ideological battles. They just see Fox News as the most familiar channel.

But the ratings since the election — in both of the key metrics of total viewers and the age 25-54 demographic, and both in total day and prime time — have been grim for Fox News.

Every day since Jan. 4, Fox has trailed both MSNBC and CNN in total day viewers in the younger demo. While viewers spiked on all three networks during coverage of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol by pro-Trump supporters, Fox’s demo viewers lagged significantly behind CNN’s, although CNN’s numbers were astonishing: CNN averaged more total day demo viewers than the other two networks combined.

Since January 4, Fox has averaged around 780,000 fewer total day viewers than MSNBC, and around 1 million fewer than CNN. In primetime, Fox has trailed MSNBC by around 650,000 viewers since Jan. 4, and CNN by around 920,000.

New Conspiracy Theories Around 'Bullhorn Lady': Rumor Mill Links Lauren Boebert's Mother to Capitol Riot

Days after Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) was accused of aiding the rioters by live-tweeting the location of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during the Capitol insurrection, she has been engulfed with another conspiracy involving the infamous 'Bullhorn Lady.' Conspiracy theorists are hinting at the possibility of 'Bullhorn Lady' being Boebart's mother, Shawna Bentz.

The 'Bullhorn Lady' became a sensation after she was caught giving instructions and detailing the floor plan of the Capitol building to a group of attackers gathered inside a room. The recent video strengthened the speculation that Capitol siege was coordinated.

That is a pretty damn close match.  She's a full blown QAnon wack job. She was given a tour the day before.   I hope they're looking into her whereabouts.  She claims she was locked down during the riots.  That should be easy enough to verify - or refute.

WASHINGTON (AP) — As President Donald Trump’s supporters massed outside the Capitol last week and sang the national anthem, a line of men wearing olive-drab helmets and body armor trudged purposefully up the marble stairs in a single-file line, each man holding the jacket collar of the one ahead.

The formation, known as “Ranger File,” is standard operating procedure for a combat team that is “stacking up” to breach a building — instantly recognizable to any U.S. soldier or Marine who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. It was a chilling sign that many at the vanguard of the mob that stormed the seat of American democracy either had military training or were trained by those who did.

An Associated Press review of public records, social media posts and videos shows at least 21 current or former members of the U.S. military or law enforcement have been identified as being at or near the Capitol riot, with more than a dozen others under investigation but not yet named. In many cases, those who stormed the Capitol appeared to employ tactics, body armor and technology such as two-way radio headsets that were similar to those of the very police they were confronting.

However,

After 20 years of wars, a good chunk of the American population are former military or law enforcement.  And while my opinion of the people who serve in our military makes me think that they would be better than that, it would still be stunning if none of the rioters fell in that category.

While the people who stormed the Capitol were not all SCA members, let's not turn them into the Green Berets, either.

I would say that those actions do speak to the storming being the result of conspiracy, and that the intent was not "oh, we were invited in and just posed for some selfies".

Feds back away from claim of assassination plot at Capitol

Federal prosecutors who initially said there was “strong evidence” the pro-Trump mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol last week aimed to “capture and assassinate elected officials” backed away from the allegation after the head of the investigation cautioned Friday that the probe is still in its early stages and there was no “direct evidence” of such intentions.

The accusation came in a court filing by prosecutors late Thursday in Phoenix in the case against Jacob Chansley, the Arizona man who took part in the insurrection while sporting face paint, no shirt and a furry hat with horns.

“Strong evidence, including Chansley’s own words and actions at the Capitol, supports that the intent of the Capitol rioters was to capture and assassinate elected officials in the United States Government,” a prosecutor wrote in a memo urging the judge to keep Chansley behind bars. But at a hearing for Chansley later in the day in Phoenix, another prosecutor, Todd Allison, struck the line from the memo.

Allison said the statement may very well end up being appropriate at Chansley’s trial, but said prosecutors didn’t want to mislead the court and don’t have to rely on the stricken statement to argue that he should remain in jail. Ultimately, a judge on Friday ordered Chansley to be jailed until his trial.

Pretty sure the voting was scheduled at least a day in advance, and was being broadcast live on CSPAN.  So I think if you're gonna demonstrate collusion, you'll need more than the timing of the attack.

Scoop: CIA director Gina Haspel almost resigned over plan to install Kash Patel as deputy

https://www.axios.com/kash-patel-cia-gina-haspel-757b92c0-82a5-457b-bde8-d0d683ee222e.html

Quote

CIA Director Gina Haspel almost resigned in early December after President Trump cooked up a hasty plan to install loyalist Kash Patel, a former aide to Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), as her deputy, according to three senior administration officials with direct knowledge of the matter.

Why it matters: The revelation stunned national security officials and almost blew up the leadership of the world's most powerful spy agency. Only a series of coincidences — and last minute interventions from Vice President Mike Pence and White House counsel Pat Cipollone — stopped it.

Behind the scenes: Trump had spent his last year in office ruminating over Haspel. Some of the president's hardcore allies, including Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo, were publicly raising doubts in his mind about Haspel.

  • He grew to distrust her, and instead wanted a loyal ally at the top of the CIA. But she wasn't the only national security official the president wanted out. Six days after the election, he fired Defense Secretary Mark Esper.
  • He'd replaced Esper with counterterrorism chief Chris Miller — and then stunned long-time national security hands by installing Patel as Miller’s chief of staff. Patel had no military experience, and was widely seen as a political mercenary bent on punishing the president's perceived “Deep State” foes.
  • But Trump told confidants he had bigger plans for Patel: He’d force out CIA deputy Director Vaughn Bishop, replace him with Patel, and if Haspel quit in protest, then Patel or another loyalist would lead the CIA.

Patel found favor with Trump playing a central role in Republican efforts to counter-program special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe. He was the key author of a memo in which Nunes accused the Department of Justice and the FBI of abusing surveillance laws as part of a politically motivated effort to take down Trump. An inspector general later validated some of the Republican criticisms of DOJ process.
