USPS tomfoolery brought to you by Trump and the coward Postmaster General Louis DeJoy

So the excuse was that USPS had an amazing amount of Christmas mail (which happens every year without issue) but usps is still garbage.  I ordered something that should have arrived last Friday and it has instead been stuck in a California sorting facility where it remains to this day.

DeJoy should be exiled for what he’s done to the post office.

Lawmaker demands U.S. Postal Service turn over vehicle contract

he chairwoman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee on Friday demanded the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) release a contract it awarded to Oshkosh Corp that could be worth $6 billion to build up to 165,000 next-generation delivery vehicles.

Some Democrats in Congress have been critical that the USPS awarded a multibillion-dollar, 10-year contract to Oshkosh Defense, a unit of Oshkosh Corp, to build a mix of gasoline-powered and electric delivery vehicles instead of choosing Workhorse Group Inc to build an all-electric fleet.

Representative Carolyn Maloney, a Democrat who chairs the committee that oversees the USPS, said “a thorough review is warranted to ensure the award process is free from undue influence and potential interference.”

She demanded USPS release the final contract, all offers submitted, records of negotiations and evaluation factors by March 26.

The problem of having business people in government is that they are focused on reducing expenses and increasing profit, as is proper for business. Business people aren't focused on human beings.

Government is focused on service to We the People. Not the bottom line, not on reducing services, and definitely not increasing profit.

Why Joe hasn't filled the vacancies on the postal board yet?  Once they do that, the Dems will be in the majority and then they can fire Dejoy.

I believe he has nominated people but they just haven’t been confirmed yet. But I’m pulling that from memory and that’s.....questionable at best lol

Meet Biden’s Postal Service nominees, who could add pressure on Louis DeJoy

President Biden’s three nominees to the U.S. Postal Service’s governing board could fundamentally tilt the balance of power at the beleaguered mail agency and add pressure on Postmaster General Louis DeJoy.

If they win Senate confirmation, the nominees — Democrats Ron Stroman and Anton Hajjar, and independent Amber McReynolds — would serve on a board that historically operates by consensus, delivering decisions with unanimity and through scripted public meetings. They also would give Democrats and Biden appointees a one-seat majority and potentially the votes to remove DeJoy, under whose oversight the mail service has recorded sharp declines in mail delivery standards. But the board’s two sitting Democrats, Chairman Ron Bloom and Donald Lee Moak, have publicly supported the postmaster general.

Political divisions among board members — and between the board and Democrats in Congress — have quietly percolated since former president Donald Trump tried to meddle in mail operations by leveraging the Postal Service’s finances, then hamper the agency’s ability to send and collect mail ballots.

The Postal Service is running a 'covert operations program' that monitors Americans' social media posts

The law enforcement arm of the U.S. Postal Service has been quietly running a program that tracks and collects Americans’ social media posts, including those about planned protests, according to a document obtained by Yahoo News.

The details of the surveillance effort, known as iCOP, or Internet Covert Operations Program, have not previously been made public. The work involves having analysts trawl through social media sites to look for what the document describes as “inflammatory” postings and then sharing that information across government agencies.
