re: Sex Pistols and Merle.. I remember all of this. I was about 14 and it was 0n the news and occasionally even on the the front page almost every day of the tour. 
There's a movie semi-about it, The Great Rock and Roll Swindle. Uses a lot of footage taken on the tour.
