visionary
Not to be a jerk, but can folks take the admittedly amusing banter to the quarantine thread? This isn't really the place to discuss drinking and food habits.... 3
skinfan2k
Let's see how this OPEN economy works with nobody going to movies, shows and other events. I should buy stock into consumer electronics bc i think people are going to buy alot of new things for their home instead of going out. Maybe Roku? It's very encouraging because it seems to be working well in the cohort that needs it the most: Quote A Chicago hospital treating severe Covid-19 patients with Gilead Sciences’ antiviral medicine remdesivir in a closely watched clinical trial is seeing rapid recoveries in fever and respiratory symptoms, with nearly all patients discharged in less than a week, STAT has learned. Remdesivir was one of the first medicines identified as having the potential to impact SARS-CoV-2, the novel coronavirus that causes Covid-19, in lab tests. The entire world has been waiting for results from Gilead’s clinical trials, and positive results would likely lead to fast approvals by the Food and Drug Administration and other regulatory agencies. If safe and effective, it could become the first approved treatment against the disease. The University of Chicago Medicine recruited 125 people with Covid-19 into Gilead’s two Phase 3 clinical trials. Of those people, 113 had severe disease. All the patients have been treated with daily infusions of remdesivir. The best news is that most of our patients have already been discharged, which is great. We’ve only had two patients perish,” said Kathleen Mullane, the University of Chicago infectious disease specialist overseeing the remdesivir studies for the hospital.

I think the latter is true, the former technically so(with the efforts of many others) since he isn't saying solely.

His base loves it and the outrage on the other side distracts from what everyone should be paying attention to. Also, I'm having a hard time believing that you didn't understand that making 'Muricuh white again is what the whole wall thing was about from jump.

Supernatural24
American piracy As of yesterday, .013% of the American population has been tested. So with these tests we have stolen from small Caribbean and major nations that are supposed to be our allies, where are all the tests going?

Dan T.
Public Service Message: Don't believe a single thing that comes out of Donald Trump's mouth unless and until it is verified independently. This is vitally important when he is speaking about the global pandemic. Be aware of - but disregard - anything he says. There are much better and more trustworthy sources of information. 1

Probably not, because those states have a degree of financial autonomy. States that are desperate to reopen will be more likely to suppress testing and get the "improvements" they want. Generally, we are already seeing the Trump administration shy away from increased testing while the Dems sign off proposal after proposal for increased funding. The partisanship over a pandemic is disgusting but not surprising. Edited April 17, 2020 by Bacon

Dan T.
This narrative from the owner of a small grocery in New Orleans’ Ninth Ward crystallizes how deeply this crisis is affecting people there. Compelling, heartbreaking, but his basic decency in all this offers a glimmer of hope. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/04/11/grocery-store-owner-new-orleans-coronavirus/?arc404=true
