The Pats signed Antonio Brown which was clearly a bad move. Guess the Pats are dysfunctional. Skins lost Trent Green because there was no owner - JKC died. Put Casserly at a disadvantage. Its not just that. Its the way they did it. It was eerily similar to the dismissal of players like Brad Johnson and Brian Mitchell in the 2000s. There was a mass exodus of players from just 2 years before. Many were older but still went on to play many more years including Ray Brown, Raleigh, Andre Collins, Schlereth, Gouvea, Wycheck. The list goes on and on. I'm not saying all those guys are all pro, and I understand that part of this comes with coaching changes, new regime means that you need to get new players that fit your scheme. But Casserly should have had more insight into what the team was building and the value of some of these players. Why did we go into the building a team around a young QB (Heath vs Gus) with no OL (which admittedly Turner did build up but we saw the sacks increase by a lot in those first few years.
