First batter up for the Nats in the first, Alcides Escobar, fouled one off down the first base line and above us. It bounced up then rolled several rows down to right behind me. I reached back and picked it up. No real scramble for the ball at all, but I texted friends "Until video emerges it was a leaping,one-handed stab of a screaming line drive." I examined the ball, then looked around for any kid with a glove or a pleading look in his or her eye. Nothing. I was pretty much being ignored except for those I was with. So into my pocket it went.
