But the kid is an athletic specimen. When healthy, he ran a 4.58 40 yard dash at 283 pounds and put up a 41" vertical leap. That's why I see him capable of playing the DE/OLB hybrid role of Elephant as he's got the size to play with his hand in the dirt and the speed to play stand-up Linebacker. 7th round feels like a good place to take a chance on a freakish athlete. There's a bit of a rumor around my neck of the woods (small town NC, and I'm a biased UNC guy), that NCSU runs a strength and conditioning program that isn't exactly legal. Partly for this reason, I'm not quite as high on Chubb etc. as others are. The numbers Street put up are certainly eyebrow raising as well, even though he was highly coveted out of high school. There isn't a formal grading. Initially we look at where the players you drafted were actually taken - if at all - in the real draft, and who takes them. You can come up with a total +/- from the actual draft but, It's typically about 3 yrs before you can really judge your draft. I did not try to predict the pick or position that Jaguars are going to do. I picked the guys I liked the most for this team right now. We want to measure our talent evaluation vs that of the NFL.
