Most likely yes. Top person at DOJ oversees SC. That fell to Rod bc Sessions recused. Whitaker is now top DOJ guy, and hasm't recused, so oversight should go to him. There are some interesting legal questions about succession though, because while Sessions "resigned" it's very obvious he was actually canned, so Whitaker's appointment might be legally problematic, but I dunno, I haven't read into that enough. The U.S. President’s campaign manager, deputy campaign manager, National Security Advisor, foreign affairs team member, and long-time personal attorney and self styled personal fixer have ALL been Federal charged and convicted of felonies. Let that sink in for a minute. Yet it’s a sign of the times that that hardly moves the needle in the bizarre world we’re living in. The President just fired the Attorney General in order to kill an investigation into himself, in which one of the charges being investigated was his firing the head of the FBI, to kill an investigation into himself. The GOP unanimously defended the first one. The voters probably don't even remember that it happened, two years later.
