The president has been shockingly presidential for the last six minutes

Quote

During the stated time, several bats flew by the window and Trump did not bite their heads off; celebrities criticized him and he declined to respond; reporters asked questions and Trump did not insult them; and three separate Twitter controversies began and ended without any comment from him whatsoever.

Then he woke up.

Still, since then, for the last six minutes, the president has been remarkably restrained. His behavior over these stellar 360 seconds is leading some to think he is turning over a new leaf in his presidency, one not marked by the vitriol and chaos of the preceding every minute of every day for the past two years. He refrained from personal insults, did not refer to the press as the enemy of the people and tweeted nothing at all. This commendable restraint was a striking departure.

Yeah my Trump cultist brothers have already said the stock market decline is due to Dems taking the house.

Also, Obama did nothing to the economy, he made it worse with handouts and the only reason it is good now is because Trump's policies.

In about an hour, the Dow Jones will be negative for the year.  Put another way, the Dow was at 24,754 on the day Trump signed the #TaxScam.  It is currently at 24,590, down about a point.

The recent drop off is largely attributed to 1) the Fed raising rates (which Trump can't control) and 2) the trade war, which is 100% on Trump.

An alternate candidate is Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Tex.) a conservative whose support of the president has won the attention and backing of others inside the White House, these people said.

However, a number of officials in the administration are preparing for the likelihood that Barr’s nomination will be announced in the coming days, these people said.

Even if Barr were announced as the president’s choice this week, it could take months for a confirmation vote, given the congressional schedule. In the meantime, acting attorney general Matthew G. Whitaker would still serve as head of the Justice Department — a decision that has angered Democrats who question both his résumé and the legal justification for his ascension to that job, given that he was not serving in a Senate-confirmed position when Trump selected him as the temporary successor to Jeff Sessions, whom Trump forced out in early November after the midterm elections.

After leaving the Justice Department, Barr served in a variety of high-level corporate positions, including as general counsel and executive vice president of Verizon Communications. He is currently a lawyer at Kirkland & Ellis and does work advising corporations on government enforcement and regulatory actions.

Barr shares at least one of the president’s views on the probe being conducted by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III. In 2017, when asked by The Washington Post about political donations made by lawyers on the special counsel’s team, Barr said “prosecutors who make political contributions are identifying fairly strongly with a political party” and added: “I would have liked to see [Mueller] have more balance on this group.”

Barr also wrote last year that the administration’s decision to fire James B. Comey as FBI director was “quite understandable” because, in his view, Comey had usurped the power of the attorney general when he publicly announced his recommendation not to charge former secretary of state Hillary Clinton during the investigation of her private email server.

Barr’s daughter, Mary Daly, is a senior Justice Department official overseeing the agency’s efforts against opioid abuse and addiction.

And he is THE BEST America can hope for.  The other potential contender that is being floated is John Radcliffe, current (R) congressman from Texas and a full-throated supporter of everything Trump has ever done, from the muslim ban to net neutrality repeal.

Also, when they make a movie about this colossal cluster****, John Goodman can play him.

From Fox and Friends to the United Nations.

Hey, maybe she can just ignore the incoherent instructions from POTUS, and just get her policies direct from Fox and Friends.

He expected Trump to recognize the physical separation of elites from the rest of the country? What on earth made him ever think this would happen?  Trump has been a part of that elite class since birth and has never shown any concern for anyone outside of that class.

I assume this may be the first domino in the disingenuous "we never actually supported Trump" liars to fall.

Oh I’m certain he still left plenty of hope for his sheeple to cling to with Trump that now the Senate is going to make Trump a success. Even though Trump has proved to be incompetent at every aspect of this job. But the 40% of people in this country who cling to this Conservative tough guy mythology will believe whatever it takes to keep from EVER admitting that they were wrong. Because make no mistake about it, the whole “still better than Hillary” bull****, is only one thing, and pitiful attempt to secure themselves from being forced to admit that they made a mistake. As such they will sacrifice, immigrants, women, the poor, thei jobs, the economy, world peace, the rule of law, even their very religion, all of these and more they will gladly thrown on the altar of their idolatry as sacrifices for their damed pride.
