'I am the son of God!': Markeith Loyd causes thousands in damages at jail, sources say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - Markeith Loyd, who is accused of killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend and a police officer, caused thousands of dollars in damages Wednesday at the Orange County Jail, sources told Channel 9's Shannon Butler.

Loyd is typically polite and well-behaved at the jail, but he became disruptive, the sources said.

Sources said corrections officers heard a loud noise and Loyd had torn a phone from a wall. They said he was behaving erratically and shouted, "I am the son of God!"

They said he broke glass in the room and destroyed a television and an iPad.

Somehow knew this was Florida as soon as I saw the headline.

Except this is sad, not funny.

Huh...

So the Son o' God kills his pregnant girlfriend, and in jail has access to TV and IPads.

Maybe i am missing something here, but if we did not give an accused murderer access to these luxuries, him screaming "I AM THE SON OF GOD" and smashing a glass (which he also should not have) would be the only damage.

Off The Beat: Why are sweat pants strings ‘flying in the air?’

James Terrell Williams, 30, was arrested March 5 after accusations he was pleasuring  himself "in plain view of a federal employee that was assisting him with a disability claim,” an affidavit states.

The case began when deputies went to the government facility in the 6800 block of South U.S. 1 for a disturbance.

While there, deputies were told about a man later identified as Williams at window No. 4 in a neighboring hallway. He was said to be pleasuring himself near a federal worker helping him with a disability claim.

It is uncommon for people to pleasure themselves near federal workers helping them with disability claims.

Off The Beat: DUI driver with 'fake urine' not showered with praise

ST. LUCIE COUNTY — A man arrested after a traffic crash explained that fake urine found in his vehicle was for “role play” that he and his wife enjoy, according to an affidavit.

Andrew Hartman, 29, gave the explanation to St. Lucie County sheriff’s investigators after a March 12 crash at Kings Highway and Angle Road.

Investigators say Hartman lost control while turning onto southbound Kings Highway and crashed into a stationary semi tractor trailer.

Hartman declined medical attention. Officials “observed the at-fault driver (Hartman) to have constricted pupils and believed he may be intoxicated,” the affidavit states.

Hartman, of Port St. Lucie, participated in field sobriety exercises, and was arrested on a charge of DUI with property damage.

In Hartman’s vehicle, deputies found a bag with “fake urine” in it. The bag smelled of marijuana.

Urine is the liquid and dissolved substances secreted by kidneys and stored in the bladder. Urine is discharged from the body via the urethra, typically into a toilet, commode or urinal.

AA minor league baseball team the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp recently announced a special promotion for a July 26 home game:

Florida Man Night

Fire up the Skynyrd, throw the kids in the back of the pickup, and crack a couple of road sodas, because the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp have just announced Florida Man Night, and if you're a fan of baseball, people watching, and public intoxication tickets, you simply cannot miss this plumbers crack jamboree.

While details remain scant, the Marlins' double-A affiliate have unveiled a few key elements of the already legendary evening, set to go down on July 26th at the beautiful Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The driving theme of the evening, unsurprisingly, will be petty crime, with Jumbo Shrimp brass attempting to break a different bizarre Florida law every inning.

To ensure that all misdemeanors are conducted properly, the Jumbo Shrimp will even have a lawyer from the Law Offices of John Phillips—the official sponsors of the event—on hand to officiate. Apparently Saul Goodman was already booked.

Breaking News

The Jumbo Shrimp have announced a Special Guest for Florida Man Night:

Florida Man Lane Pittman.

You may recognize Mr. Pittman as the brave soul who refused to evacuate during Hurricane Matthew and instead cranked up Slayer, waved an American flag, and head-banged into the storm while a news crew filmed:

No word on whether Florida Man Lane Pittman is related to - or IS - Pittman4Two.
