China Posted November 2, 2018 Share Posted November 2, 2018 Florida surgeon mistakenly removes woman’s kidney during surgery A Florida doctor is facing losing his license to practice medicine after he mistakenly removed a perfectly healthy kidney from a back-surgery patient because he thought it was a cancerous mass. According to the Palm Beach Post, Maureen Pacheco entered Wellington Regional Medical Center on April 29, 2016, to get bones in her lower back fused following a car accident. When she woke up from surgery she found out that an assisting surgeon had removed one of her kidneys while she was under sedation — giving her no choice in the matter. The report states that Pacheco first met with Dr. Ramon Vazquez shortly before the operation, with Vazquez only scheduled to make the initial incision as orthopedic surgeons stood by to do the back surgery. After opening Pacheco up, Vazquez identified one of her kidneys as what he thought was a cancerous mass and chose to remove it, only to discover afterward that he had removed a vital organ. Pasco County deputies arrested 24-year-old Michael Petralia on a video voyeurism charge. Deputies said he placed a camera in the attic of the home with the lenses peering through a small construction hole in the victim’s bedroom, without her knowing. Investigators said Petralia made sexual advancements towards the victim by flashing his private parts and leaving sex toys throughout the house. When they found the camera’s memory card, deputies said there was video showing Petralia placing the hidden camera in the attic. China Posted November 9, 2018 Share Posted November 9, 2018 Pasco deputies: Elementary principal stole $900 from 9-year-old LAND O’LAKES — A 50-year-old elementary school principal was arrested Thursday after deputies said he stole money brought to school by a 9-year-old student with a mental disability, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. Connerton Elementary School principal Edward John Abernathy, of Land O’Lakes, is accused of stealing $900, deputies said. On Oct. 23, the student brought $2,100 of his parents’ money to school. Once teachers realized, deputies said they took it, counted it and locked it in the principal’s office. When the student’s mother went to collect the money, Abernathy only returned $1,200, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Detectives later determined Abernathy kept the rest. Over the weekend, an unidentified man in Sebring was photographed sitting in the trunk of a car using his hands to hold a boat trailer for at least a few blocks, according to WFLA TV. The woman who photographed him told the station she did not know the speed of the car he was in, since she followed him for only about 45 seconds, according to The Orlando Sentinel. One of Florida’s first tourist attractions, the park was once known for its scenic vistas and native wildlife. But for the last 80 years, the park’s biggest draw has been its monkeys. That’s right—Silver Spring State Park is home to at least 300 rhesus macaques, a monkey native to south and southeast Asia. The animals are breeding rapidly, and a new study estimates that the monkey population will double by 2022 unless state agencies take steps to control it. The study, published October 26 in the journal Wildlife Management, claims that such an increase could put the health of the park and its visitors in serious jeopardy—because, among other problems, the monkeys carry a rare and deadly form of herpes virus called herpes B. It’s extremely rare for herpes B to spread from a monkey to a human, but when it does, it can cause inflammation of the brain and spinal cord leading to brain damage or death. The victim told deputies that Rosalie Contreras, 34, was mad at her for misbehaving, so she drove her to a remote location in Dade City, made her take off her clothes and ordered her to walk back home. Contreras was following behind the girl, and when another vehicle approached, she told the girl to get back in the car. She then allegedly hit the victim's face, punched her on the back and grabbed her breasts, pinching and twisting them. The teen was left with visible injuries. In an interview with investigators, Contreras said she took the victim to that location because someone would not let her spank the girl. In the end, deputies reported finding more than $100,000 in cash, drugs and several firearms and took Williams to the slammer. The case began when a deputy went to a home on Northeast Ixora Drive in Jensen Beach. Williams invited a deputy inside, saying they’d need more law enforcement officials. He said the FBI would be needed and they would be there for days. Directed to the kitchen, a deputy noticed suspected marijuana, cocaine, a “bong” and guns. Asked about the suspected drugs, Williams said he wasn’t saying anything until the FBI showed up. Williams eventually said someone broke in and put the drugs there. Deputies said Timothy Powell told them he was recruited by thieves who encouraged him to have his teeth extracted and replaced with dental implants so he would look better for future fraudulent transactions. Powell said the personal information of an 80-year-old DeBary man with dementia was bought on the dark web, investigators said. The victim's caretaker said she learned of the fraudulent purchases when the victim received two bills from a South Florida dental clinic in the mail. Jake Brenner, the victim's brother, told Channel 9 his niece notified him of the incident about a week ago. "I never heard about anything like that," he said. "It's kind of different." Finance companies that loaned Powell the money said they are going after him for repayment. Investigators said Powell also used the victim's identity to spend almost $10,000 on a French bulldog puppy. According to court records, Bianca Byndloss this month copped to her involvement in the May 2014 incident at the Miami home of a male acquaintance. Seen at right, Byndloss was initially charged with multiple felony counts of lewd and lascivious battery on a child and promoting sexual performance by a child. She pleaded to reduced felony raps, including child abuse. Byndloss, who has described herself as a “porn diva,” has performed in numerous X-rated videos under the names “Bianca B,” “Bibi Miami,” and “Marsha May.” ... According to cops, Byndloss and her codefendants “engaged in sexual acts” with the victims, who were 14, 13, and 12 at the time. Byndloss, investigators alleged, transported the minors to the home where they later drank vodka and gin, took Xanax, and had sex. “Everyone pretty much had sex with everyone,” the 13-year-old victim told police. The 12-year-old victim told cops, “Everyone was taking pictures and recording the sex acts with their cell phones.” One video recovered by police showed the 12-year-old victim “digitally penetrating” Byndloss’s vagina. A photo uploaded to a defendant’s Instagram page showed a naked Byndloss (identified in a police report as “Subject #2”) posing with the 14-year-old victim, who wore only a bikini top. During a police interview, one of the victims said that the group had also partied at a Miami Beach hotel, and that Byndloss and a male codefendant had sex in a bathroom with the 12-year-old victim. China Posted November 28, 2018 Share Posted November 28, 2018 Wife of man slashed with sword on Thanksgiving arrested, police say ROCKLEDGE, Fla. - The wife of a man found disemboweled in a Rockledge, Florida, neighborhood on Thanksgiving and her boyfriend have been arrested in connection with the stabbing, police said. The victim, who police said was nearly butchered alive with a sword, has been identified as Jackie Ramsey III. Witnesses said he stumbled out of a home on Carolina Avenue to ask for help from his neighbors Thursday morning, according to police. Witnesses said Ramsey was nearly slashed to death and was hugging his intestines against his body. Police said Ramsey’s wife, Amanda Ramsey, 30, and her boyfriend, Louis Nunez, 22, were arrested Tuesday in Volusia County. Police said they believe the victim was set up and did not know about his wife’s relationship with Nunez.
